Joe Ayoob interview

ShutdownCorner:What would you say is your best trait as a football player?
Ayoob: I would say my athletic ability. I like to think that as a QB I can use my legs very effectively to make plays.

ShutdownCorner:What goals do you plan to achieve in the AFL?
Ayoob:I would love to be a starting QB in the AFL. I feel that once that goal is achieved my next goal will be to win an Arena Cup championship.

ShutdownCorner:What is your favorite memory from Cal?
Ayoob:My favorite memories from Cal would be playing in all the opposing teams’ stadiums such as the Rose Bowl, Neyland Stadium (Tennessee), and the Coliseum. As far as a specific game goes I would say the fourth quarter comeback in 2005 against Washington State.

ShutdownCorner:How is football different from San Francisco City College to Cal to the AFL?
Ayoob:From CCSF to Cal there was a huge difference. The athletic ability from the top of the roster to the bottom was unbelievable. Also, the speed of the game was much faster. Playing the outdoor game and then moving indoors was a big change. The speed of the game increases again because everything is happening in a much smaller area. The types of the throws that you have to make are very different from playing outdoors. A lot of the football concepts that you learn growing up playing the game go out the window.

ShutdownCorner:Who was your favorite football player growing up?
Ayoob:Joe Montana.

ShutdownCorner:What is on your Ipod?
Ayoob:Guitar Hero songs . . . I'm addicted to that game.

ShutdownCorner:What does the future hold for Joe Ayoob?
Ayoob: I don’t know, and I don’t like to predict my future; but I think that my best years of football are yet to be played, whether in the AFL, CFL, or NFL.

We here at Shutdowncorner21.com would like to thank Joe for taking time out of his day to do this interview with us.

I remember Joe Ayoob at Cal a few years back. He was decent and played on some pretty good Cal teams. Best of luck to him in his AFL venture.
