This will be a really good game and I will be watching. Only saw ASU play once and Oregon twice, since it's in the pond I give a slight advantage to the Ducks but it really could go either way, can't wait to watch.

Should be a good game. Dennis Erickson has ASU playing with a lot of poise. The Sun Devils have been shutting teams out in the second half. I read somewhere that in their last 3 games they have scored 100+ points in the second half while holding their opponents to just 7 points. Carpenter is having a great season but has shown he can get rattled. ASU has two very good young backs in Herring and Nance. If ASU is going to win they'll have to be able to run the ball and control the time of possesion. ASU's defense is going to have to account for Dixon's ability to run. I think they'll need to play alot of spy and try to take the run away from Dixon. Oregons receiving corp is an area of concern due to injuries. If ASU can take the run away from Dixon and limit Jonathon Stewarts production, they can force the Ducks into passing situations giving them a shot.
For Oregon the keys to the game are a little more simple. The Ducks have to keep the Autzen crowd in a frenzy. The Ducks have to win the turnover battle. Oregon needs to focus on shutting down the ASU ground game. Force Carpenter into trying to win with his arm. The Oregon secondary is fast and can easily pick Carpenter if he tries going vertical too much. Oregon will give up a few big pass plays but no team has been able to pass on them this year without giving up crucial interceptions. Last edited by Daddy Duck : 10-31-2007 at 05:02 PM. |

If Oregon can run the table from here, they belong in the title game.

Dixon is fine. Bellotti is saying it's a mild strain and that he could have gone back in the game but they decided with the score to keep Leaf in. Williams has had a case of the drops all year long. I have heard over 25 drops this season and that Dixon's comp % would be around 74% if not for those drops. Bellotti is supposed to address starting position changes in his press conference today. I expect Drew Davis to take Williams job. Colvin is done for the year. Paysinger and AJ Tuitele are supposed to be reevaluated this week, both may be ready to go if we get a January game. I have talked to West Virginia fans at other sites about a possible WVU and Oregon match up. Great group of fans back there. Anyway I think a West Virginia Oregon, Rose Bowl match would be great with a little luck maybe even a game in New Orleans. |
