I don't give a rat's ass if they're good. I hate them and there's nothing wrong with that. I respect them (you know, that "respect" concept, the thing you don't have for my team?), yes, but I hate them more than any team in the NHL.

If you expect me to take you seriously, then you'll stop using the most overdone and unfunny team names in the business...you know, the ones used by 13-year olds? Those ones? Yeah.

I'm gonna go with take a joke mon ami. I honestly don't completely hate the Maple Leafs, which is why I use those small time 3 year old insults. I just dislike them out of any team in the NHL except NJ Devils and Pittsburgh

I had read a story in SI, some time ago, about this very subject. They had the list as follows:

FIFA: Manchester United
MLB: New York Yankees
NFL: New England Patriots (No doubt has only guarented there place here with Spy Gate)
NBA: Detroit Pistons
NHL: Toronto Maple Leafs
F1: Michael Shumacher
PGA: Tiger Woods (This was before he was fighting injury, now he's quite popular as he appears to be human)
NCAA Basketball: Duke (UCLA in now in the hated list and nearly rivals Duke)
NCAA Football: Michigan Wolverines

Now this was a bit old and there have been others that have come along since then in certain areas and some of those mentioned have seen a boost in popularity.

The only thing I disagree about is I think UCLA and Ohio State are hated more then Duke and Michagan.

Man U is by far the most hated team... It's not even close, with Becks having played there and Zidane and everything else, they're hated by nearly everyone... I'm not saying that Liverpool and Chelsea don't make the cut, only that these were the teams that made the list. The article went on to say that this was mainly due to several factors

#1. Player attitudes.
#2. Media Coverage.
#3. Consistan Pool of Talent.
#4. Fan Attitudes.
#5. Non-Sports Fan Recognition.

That being said, I agree with the Ohio State comment and I also agree with the UCLA comment to an extent, but Duke is still THE team to beat in the B-Ball scene by a long shot. An article was posted on Yahoo sports just this year starting to say that the tides were shifting to UCLA. That being said, Ohio State, and many of the NCAA Bowl Teams are on that list, or should be. The NCAA scene is a hard one to pick simply because there are soooo many teams and the teams have the ability to pick gimmy games which no doubt doesn't add to their reputation as A-Holes... University of Florida under Spurrier were notorious for building rediculous leads on sad teams which by all rights probably shouldn't have even been allowed to play against the Gators.

I don't, on the other hand, agree with the comment about Notre Dame. They've always had and always will have a very clean and sportsman reputation about them... Everybody at one point in time wants (wanted) to play there... It's just the way it is. Though people who belong to teams where they play may not like them very much, it isn't as wide spread as some of the others listed in there... At the time I read this article, Michigan was a power house, which is no doubt why they had made the list...
