i guess. but he obviously has the faith of the flyers and the flyers managment. i mean he was named head coach after the flyers fired hitch, not interm head coach. so if they feel they went with the right guy, i have faith in that too. (more homerism maybe...the season will have to tell)

im with instaaled...i think he is, and will put up the numbers to prove so this year.

- Besides Timonen there's no proven offensive Dman. I'm not sure, if Picard is up to the task.
picard may not be up to the task of suppling as much offense as u would expect. coburn will surely help there too. but im not too concerned with that, like i said above.. this isnt going to be a top scoring defense in the NHL...thats obvious. the offense on the other hand, if they can mesh weel, and if stevens puts the peices together in a way that works, then you might see a whole lot of 20+ goal scorers in the line up

- an enormous pressure on the players, coaches & the GM, after the trainwreck season of 2006/07.
coach i can buy, although i personally think he will, he needs to prove hes there for a reason. players... well, 1/3 are young guys who were expected to do too much last season, 1/3 are new guys, but proven players at the nhl level, and 1/3 are vets who are role players, so i can buy that the players who are new to the team will have some pressure on them. i.e. briere, timonnen, smith etc..

but for the others, i dont see why there all that much more pressure than any other year. nad waht i like is that the window of the opertunity to perform for most of the team isnt closing, its looking a lot better with the moves the GM has made.

and that brings me to homer..i dont think he has much pressure on him any more.. if you take a look at the moves he has made this offseason and at the end of last season then youll know what i mean.

Koivu doesn't think they have the tools to be considered a legit SC winning threat. They don't.

He never said they wouldn't make the playoffs.

As for the Yotes, I predict they play a full 82 game schedule this year.

I'm curious to see if Bobby Ryan makes the Ducks. I think he should open the season in Portland, personally.

yea, i dunno either, there are a lot of kids that are gonna be makin the big leagues, but ryan, while he may be one of the best out there, has the luxury of more development time, he may not like it, but its usually whats best...

And that's a pretty dang deep team he's trying to break into. Drew Miller is my choice for rookie forward on the Ducks this year.

Go Leafs Go.

Oooooooh, big new everyone. Brent Sopel is going to Red Wings camp, on a try out. That's huge, I think I'm done for the day.

Admitting to being a Leaf's fan would be worse than paying you two off with "favours" in this man's humble opinion.
