CFL: How do YOU spell R-E-V-E-N-G-E?
The CFL does not have as many teams as the NFL. CFL clubs don't have as
much revenue as NFL franchises. For these two reasons travel is limited and scheduling sees many back-to-back matchups. On the first weekend in September 2006, for instance, you have Edmonton at Calgary, Hamilton at Toronto and Saskatchewan at Winnipeg. The following week (2nd weekend September 2006) You get the same three matchups only at the other teams' fields. My question is: Is the revenge factor much to speak of in the CFL? Maybe there's just bad teams and good teams and a losing team can thirst for revenge in rematch the following week as much as it wants but thet're not good enough to get it . . . discrepancy vs. parity. |

Rivalry more then revenge. The games you mentioned (Cal/Edm and Tor/Ham in particular) are essentially the Cowboys/Skins, Chiefs/Broncos of Canada. Labour Day Classic on monday should be great. I can't wait.

As it was said, it's more about rivalries...
I'd had Montreal - Toronto... In general... Not just for the CFL...

There's a lot of good rivalries in the CFL, even with 8 teams. The classic has to be the Battle of Alberta (Calgary & Edmonton) not to mention the Bombers vs Saskatchewan, Hamilton & Toronto. Bring on the Banjo Bowl! Yee haa!

It definately creates a no-love lost matchup and sometimes I like it as it is like other sports like baseball, basketball and hockey where you truly see who the better team is over a series and they play 18 games so this may happen twice
