Favre Finished

I love Brett Favre as much as the next guy. But his career is finished. He has held the Green Bay organization and its fans hostage to his losing ways by taking advatage of the love they have for them. His performance against the Rams sealed it for me. How does a veteran guy **** up like that?

New York Giants

for someone who says he loves Bret as much as the next guy it sure doesnt sound that way!!!!

Brett has carte blanche' because he has won 2 superbowls for the Lambeau Faithful and a hellava lot more for the Team than the current GM and Coach.
That being said he screwed the pooch at the end of the game yesterday and will be harder on himself than any coach will ever be, for winners that is way they become winners!

I guess I must have watched a different Packers Game yesterday, as the turnover was not Favres fault. He had been doing 3 step drops most of the game, and he did the same on that final play. The offensive lineman blocked his defender right towards Favre, and knocked the ball out of his hand. I also feel that Favre should have retired by now, but let's not blame HIM for every Green Bay loss, there were 10 other Packers on the field during that play......

I must have missed something. When did Favre win his second SuperBowl?

Before giving him all the SuperBowl credit, remember that the Packers also fielded a dominant defense during their SuperBowl win. Reggie White had as much to do with that win as Favre did.

He is setting Green Bay back by not retireing, there is nothing that he will be able to do to help them win. Just go Brett it is over.

Yeah first of all he won 1 Super Bowl, not 2, on a Pro Bowler laden team - one of the greatest of all time. He came close the next season and since has had plenty of poor playoff games.

I agree he is hurting his team - but I point out this.

He is only 17 TDs behind Marino's all-time record.

What player wouldn't be tempted by an all-time mark like that?

OK Barry Sanders wouldn't.

Favre wants the record I'm fairly sure.

Brett will continue to pull this crap until a coach up there gets the gonads to bench him.

New York Giants

and the coach who does will be destroyed by the media who all love the gunslinger and his streak!!! Which transends the rest of team like ripkins did Brett has to sit himself no coach will be allowed to even tuna or gibbs dont have enough cred to do it and no way in the world would a rookie coach in that town, it would be fastest way to end up with your house burned down by packer fans!!!!!! and i retract my 2 win meant 2 trips to big game one win.

They would pull the torches back if the backup won some games.

I have visted Green Bay. Favre is god to them. While benching him and planning for the future makes the most sense, tough to sit a living icon.

Favre is done as the gunslinger. He used to be able to get away with ill-advised throws because of his arm strength and fast release. Now the fastball has lost a few MPH and the ball is a bit slower coming out. The result are an inordinate number of picks. Favre has never been conservative and won't change, so that trend won't reverse. When all is said and done, he might have Marino's TD record, but he might break Blanda's INT record as well. He is only 17 INTs away from setting the career mark there as well.

Ironically enough, he is also only 17 INTs behind Blanda's career mark of 277 as well...

Excellent point. He could easily finish his career as Mr. Interception.

That would be a hell of a wager - which record will he break?

I've always liked Favre (in spite of the fact that I don't like Green Bay at all), but I have to say that I agree. I think this should be his last year.

In the end, both. I bet the INT record falls first.
