No. Vick is not a top-5 QB by any shake of the dice. He might not even be a top-10.

He is a great runner and plays well with a lead, but if you need a QB to rally you for 2 scores in the 4th, you are screwed with Vick. He is great runner, sub-par passer.

Really hmmmm I seem to remember who the first QB to go into GB in Jan beat the pack in the playoffs Michael Vick!!!! You dont get QB rating with Vick you get wins you get fans in the seat and in front of the TV sets!!! stats suck Carr is highest Rated QB inQB rating ATM 1-3 record while Vick is 3-1 itsa matter of choice what type of qb do you prefer! If you Define QB by passing alone he wont be your QB but if you define it by team leader and winner Vick is it!!!

Vick was just the first of many to do that. The Pack was a vastly over-rated team that year, so beating them is hardly a monumental accomplishment. More to a point, it was snowing that day which hindered the passing game. Far less of an issue for Vick than for Favre.

Again, crediting Vick with the Falcons wins is like crediting Rothlisberger as the best QB in NFL history. TEAMS win football games.

Your QB's primary responsibility is to get the ball to his receivers. The success of the passing game rest on him. You define a QB by his ability to control the game, perform in the clutch and throwing the ball. Scambling is purely a luxary, great if you have it but meaningless if they can't win with their arm. Guys that beat you with their legs are called RBs. More is expected out of QB.

The success of the Falcons has been dictated more by their defense than Michael Vick. Again, when their defense is in the upper ranks, they have successful seasons. When it is not, they do not. Vick was coincidentily injured during the disasterous 3-4 experiment or his W-L record wouldn't look quite as rosey.

What you get with Vick is hype, ESPN sound bytes, a Madden-addict's wet dream and a gimmick for the casual fan. What you don't get is an elite QB. For the record, Vick has to be the 9th or 10th QB to "redefine" the QB position with his legs. Cunningham, Kordell, Young Culpepper and McNabb have already beat him to it. The ones who have went on to be successful QBs have only done so because they learned to beat teams with their arm and brain. The ones who have failed did so because they never figured that out.

Put another way, why are the Falcons 3-1? Vick has led their offense to all of 5 TDs in 4 games. Is it iit because their defense is top-6 overall and Top-5 in scoring? Vick has been in ONE GAME that he wasn't playing with a lead, and he stunk against the Saints.

Put yet another way, if in 3 games, your RBs give you 550 rushing yards and your defense holds opponents to 19 total points, if you DON'T go 3-0, then you should be selling Whoppers. The ONE GAME THISYEAR where Vick actually needed to contribute something for his team to stay in it, he failed. Badly.

Vick is one hell of an athlete, and he's a good QB but I wouldn't call him top-five by any stretch of the imagination. He has his strengths, but as QB some things are missing.

okay last comment if Mike is so terrible why such an active thread i dont see a thread for Alex my hands are too small to hold the ball Smith or Byron my teammates have to carry me too the huddle Leftwich or even Joey i am so bad i couldnt make it in Detroit Harrington, Mark i used to be able to run the ball Brunell, David i spend so much time on the turf they are calling me grass Carr or better yet Drew TO is about to throw me under the bus Bledsoe. Mike may not be the best Passer in the NFL[honestly he isnt even close to top 10 passing] but he has the it factor he WINs games and Commish of ACC i think it was you in a different thread that said it was Wins and losses that matter nothing else!!! sucks when your own words disprove your arguement!
