There's a post like this in the college football boards, and I thought we could use one here!

Which is the most underrated team in the NFL? Why?

Tough call. I think the Eagles were probably one of the teams given the least respect in the offseason relative to their play thus far. Many prognosticators had them last in the NFC East because of the lack of receivers. Last year was an abberation in Philadelphia and I think the Eagles are showing it this year. Most overhyped team thus far? Probably the Dolphins.

It may be a "homer" pick, but I'd say the Saints qualify. You never hear them mentioned among the other 3-1 teams and they are always ranked behind some of the teams with worse records in "power polls". Hopefully that'll change with a few more wins.

Most overrated team from the preseason? The Dolphins.

Saints and Rams both neither was expected to do as well as they are Currently and the SAN Dieeeeeego SUPERRRRR Chargers and Ravens in the AFC none were picked to do even close to as well as they are all doing

I have to vote for the Saints as well, they are just rolling along. They seem to have that "Winning Spirit",and it shows on the field......

I lot of people laughed at me when I said the Chargers look to be one of the best teams in the AFC. Doesn't look so funny any more.

Ravens have a lot of talent on their roster, a SuperBowl caliber roster, but they give me that uneasy feeling. The whole is still less than the sum of it's parts. Of all the teams with 1 or fewer loses, I peg them most likely to pull a Vikings and miss the play-offs.

Team I don't think people are giving enough respect too is the Patriots. While they are no longer the dominant team of a few years back, they are still somebody who can go out and beat anybody on any given week.

Panthers are a team that is rarely being mentioned as one of the NFC's best. They have a dominant playmaking defense and an explosive offense that can rack up points. I don't get why people are forgetting about them.

No, this question should only be on college boards.

There's no official poll in the NFL and that's one reason why the NFL is so great. Wins and losses matter - nothing else.

Don't worry about national media recognition.

Who's the most underrated? You could make a case for any team and it will change from week to week. So my answer is who cares? Again wins and losses decide everything not polls.

The questionis a good one imho so much is said on the Coaches shows the highlite reels ESPN nfl total access who are your top 5 teams so why not see who people feel is underated and to my fellow SD super Charger agreer two thumbs up The Bronco's and KC everyones fav's at beginning of season everyone has forgotten!!! UH UH only reason i remember is my sister is biggest charger fan i have ever met so she is definately enjoying rubbing my nose in it this year!!!!

I will say that they are still probably a bit under-rated. The Philly Saints match-up next week will be an interesting one.

baltimore and NO are both good answers. i think some had jacksonville a little underrated. philly was also imo

it is 5 games in mind you, some things are gonna change

I'm not surprised by how the Chargers are doing this year, either. They're generally dismissed, but the people doing the dismissing are going to start paying attention this year. Underrated for sure.

not sure how you feel philly was underated seeing as alot of "the so called experts" had them and 2 others from the NFC East going to the playoffs!!!

Bah! The Saints have their a**es kissed by everyone in the media daily. Hell, Bono and Greenday played at their home opener! They are overinflated, IMO.

The most underrated team in the league this year? The Jacksonville Jaguars.
