Women in Football

Okay, I'm gonna say it. No, I'm not sexist but I know you guys have thought the same thing:

Why is every sideline reporter at ESPN female?

Why is every cheerleader female? The answer is quite obvious: Women look better in a mini-skirt.

I have to believe it is because of the eye candy as well. They seem to do a pretty reasonable job so why not keep them there... They sure are better to look at then Tony Siragusa haha

yeah, i don't mind female sideline reporters. a sideline reporter's job is trivial anyways, and their most important job is interviewing coaches and players as they enter/leave the field at halftime. that goes for both men and women sideline reporters.

just keep them out of the studio shows though. that is the staple of sports broadcasting, and the shows need to be strictly regulated to people with experience in whatever sport they're reporting. there aren't any women nfl or ncaa football players or coaches, so i don't expect any woman to be on "college gameday" or "nfl live". on the other hand, seeing women studio anchors for the world cup was fine, since there are plenty of experienced personnel in that sport. i would actually put more stock into a u.s. women's soccer player than an american man, since they have more experience and success.

I don't know, Tony Siragusa allows me to make many more jokes.

I pulled the drunken Namath "I want to kiss you" on my ex once. It's funnier because she wants to be a sports anchor.

I don't think she was too pleased.

So basically you are saying that because I have never played hockey in the NHL I couldn't do commentary in the studio? Thats kind of a broad statement to make without knowing one's knowledge on the subject. Just because I have never been in a face off circle against a guy like Brind'Amour doesn't mean I don't know what it takes to win a face off. Just because I haven't played in goal like Ryan Miller doesn't mean I don't know how angles and body positioning play into making a great save. Just because I haven't shot against Martin Brodeur while centering two great wingers like Heatley and Alfredsson doesn't mean I dont understand the difference between a backhander or a wrist shot or a one timer...I also understand that although Heatley and Alfredsson are both RW'ers it was easier for Heatley to switch over to LW since he is a lefty, thus its easier to protect the puck. I know how crucial it is to have a strong point man on the powerplay. I know what the crease is, I know what the hash marks are, I know what offside is. I could probably school most guys up and down about the game of hockey, but since my name is not Manon Rheaume I shouldn't do anything in the studio? I should just stand in between the penalty boxes and make sure my boobs are nice and perky?

I don't much care who the sideline reporters are, it's basically a reporter who is there to tell us about an injury or to interview a coach or a player. As far as being a play by play announcer, I don't really mind if it's a man or woman as long as they can keep up. Although I did watch one college game last year that had a female announcer, and it was the worst called game I've ever seen.
