Duane Brown at #5 is ASININE. First & foremost this was an Alex Gibbs pick and Gibbs invented the zone blocking scheme that he made effective in Denver and Atlanta. It takes lighter, swifter players with a long arm span to staff a LT in a ZBS scheme and Brown has all the intangibles necessary.
He only needs to be coached up properly and owing to the fact that we have the original practitioner for the job, the pick makes perfect sense. They are right about one thing though; the Texans do know something that no one else knows just like when we drafted Super Mario ahead of Titans QB and Saints RB. We all saw how well that turned out ![]()

VY against Houston - 563 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, a completion percentage of 64%, 174 rushing yards, 3 touchdowns, and an overtime run for a game winning TD. All of that and has not lost yet, and this is a QB who wasn't even supposed to start for 2-3 years. IN THREE GAMES Mario Williams against the Titans - 16 tackles and 3.5 sacks. Impressive, but I'll take the improving QB. IN FOUR GAMES |

Sam Baker is a player that could be a bust. He would have been there for Atlanta in the 2nd round but as a Skins fan I'm glad they traded up for him because we got 2 good WRs in the second round Devon Thomas and Malcolm Kelly and good TE Fred Davis when he doesn't over sleep.

Ryan, to me, is automatically at the top of the list for "Potential", not only because of his draft position, but because of the ludicrous rookie contract he was given by the Falcons.
Throw in the shadow of Michael Vick and you've got "Ryan Leaf" tattooed on your ass somewhere... (Note: I reserve the right to retract this post in four years or so... ) |

It takes 3 years to really determine who will be a "bust" and who will not. With no truely outstanding run away #1 pick, this draft was more about who will be "good" than who will be "great". Taken in that context, I think that a lot of these players have a chance to fullfill expectations.
