Owners Opt Out of Labor Deal Unanimously - Lockout Coming?

Oh boy... Could we be headed for an uncapped year in 2010 and a lockout in 2011?

This could get interesting...

Meh... Who cares... Really. In the end, the owners get what the owners want and if people don't want to play for em... CFL is always looking for talent. Personally I hate the cap. Baseball doesn't have a cap and NBA has a soft cap, which is working for them and making more moneny for the smaller teams. Either way, it'll be better for the league... In the end.

Depends on how rich the owner of your team is.

If the 2010 season is an uncapped year I know of one owner that will try to take advantage of that and his name isn't Jerry Jones. It's Dan Snyder I think he will try to sign as many free agents as he can since he loves big names. A lot of us Redskins fans are worried about that.

Not really, you see a soft cap system runs on a luxury tax, meaning that something like 50% of the money your team is over the cap with goes to other teams around the league. True, that it you're in a very small market, you can still get "crapped on". But in the end, those teams would likely be in the same position reguardless. Also, having a soft cap would allow teams to resign players to longer contracts... We could, if this were the way they were thinking of going, see players retire from the game where they were once drafted, instead of the team pass around system that's been the norm as of late with many names moving from team to team...
