Best QB Battles in Camp
Interesting to see if any of the rookie QB can become the starter of thier new teams.
Some of the "starters" may be unseated, any correct me if I am wrong in guessing. Colt Brennan VS Jason Campbell ~ Washington John David Booty VS Tavarius Jackson ~ Minnesota Brian Brohm VS Aaron Rodgers ~ GB Chad Henne VS John Beck ~ Miami Matt Ryan in Atlanta Joe Flacco in Baltimore Does aynone think any of these rookie has a legit chance to start. |

Brennan. Campbell isn't too great, and Brennan is out to prove something. The Rainbow Warrior will get something done in training camp. I don't like JD Booty much either, but he has a legit chance to start over the thus far failed project of Tavares Jackson

Joe Flacco is behind Boller and Troy Smith and I think Boller will win the job but not for long before Troy takes over and if he struggles they'll probably put Boller back in. Flacco won't/shouldn't see hardly any play this year unless they're planning on ruining him. In Miami, it'll be Josh McCown vs. John Beck, Henne will be #3. In Green Bay, the Packers drafted Brohm to be a number 2 QB for awhile, and are behind Rodgers 100%, which means that there's basically no battle between them. Colt Brennan is not up for the starting position at all. It's Jason Campbell vs. Todd Collins if anything. The Vikes will roll with Tarvaris no matter what, barring an injury. Booty will need time to develop. If Tarvaris struggles or gets hurt than you'll see Gus Frerotte or Brooks Bollinger if he isn't cut before they toss in Booty. The real QB battles this year will be: Starting QB battles: Matt Leinart vs. Kurt Warner Josh McCown vs. John Beck Kyle Boller vs. Troy Smith Jake Delhomme vs. Matt Moore Matt Ryan vs. Joey Harrington vs. Chris Redman vs. D.J. Shockley Alex Smith vs. Shaun Hill Jon Kitna vs. Drew Stanton Kyle Orton vs. Rex Grossman Back up QB Battles: Brooks Bollinger vs. Gus Frerotte Luke McCown vs. Brian Griese vs. Chris Simms vs. Bruce Gradkowski vs. Josh Johson Anthony Wright vs. David Carr vs. Jared Lorenzen vs. Andre' Woodson Kevin Kolb vs. A.J. Feeley QB's that could get pushed into a battle at somepoint: Brodie Croyle/Damon Huard Kellen Clemons/Chad Pennington Trent Edwards/J.P. Losman Matt Schaub/Sage Rosenfels Derek Anderson/Brady Quinn (I hope not) Aaron Rodgers/Brian Brohm

Rodgers and Brohm
There won't be a QB battle between Rodgers and Brohm unless Rodgers gets hurt.
I also don't see an Anderson/Quinn battle, either. Not after the monster contract the Browns gave Anderson last year. Quinn will also be an "injury only" replacement this year. |

Brennan is gonna see the field this year and might be starting a lot sooner than initially thought. The kid looks legit as long as he has time to throw.

Jason Cambell has barely played at all this season so far, hasn't since he was injured, and even then he was the best option for them, therefore, i don't see Colt coming in and stealing the spotlight from him. Jackson seems to be loosing popularity as this preseason goes on, especially with the possibility of a Brett Favre Trade looming, so its all up in the air, if i was head coach right now though, I would probably go with Booty though. Again, the Brett Favre issue arises. IF Brett isn't on his way to another team by then end of the season, he will be the starter at GB, if Brett isn't there, Aaron Rodgers is going to be using what I am calling his god given right to lead the Packers into the Monday night battle v. Minnesota... Chad Henne in Miami, nuff said, they needed a QB, they got prob the best Drop back and passer kind of guy they could get coming out of college. He Started all four seasons he was at UM, he will be starting come September for the Dolphins. As far as Matt is concerned, he has been promised the starting job since he was drafted, he was the best QB on the board on draft day, they took him for a reason, he will start. Joe Flacco could also be starting come the start of the season. Although Kyle Boller and Troy Smith are the experienced guys, i could see Joe under center week one, although i would love to see the former Heisman winner get the start as well. |
