The Football Boards First Round Mock Draft: Pick #1 Miami Dolphins
Since we don't have the numbers and the consistent users to have a full mock, this is what we're going to do. We're all going to input discussion into who will be picked where and when, starting with the 1st pick and going all the way to 31.
Please vote for the player you believe the Miami Dolphins will pick at #1. The goal is to try and be accurate rather than build a draft stable as a fantasy GM. So basically get your predicting hat on. On the clock for 72 hours, the Miami Dolphins.

If the draft happened today after what we have seen, I am gonna say they will take Chris Long. Guy dominated the combine, its in his blood with Howie being his father, and Miami and Jason Taylor are gonna part ways soon. Parcells isnt a qb guru either. All signs point to this guy.

I honestly don't think they pick here... Parcells will trade out of this pick. I chose Jake Long because I think that's who they will end up getting 3 or 4 picks down.

I think the same thing but I think the team that pics here will take Ryan. That's why I chose Ryan, I wasn't sure what the protocol was for this format if they traded out. I think Ryan will be the #1 pick by another team.

No, with the falcons cutting QB Joey Harrington, what they need is a good QB, so they will be the ones to get Matt Ryan in the 3rd Round.

They took a QB last year. This team needs so much help that a QB is not the answer. They need to start building from the lines out. This is going to be a project. The Dolphins have been floundering around like fish out of water for years now, and it is not going to change overnight. I think they trade out of the position, but unless Dallas is really desperate for McFadden, who will trade with them?

Doesn't matter, they don't play him at all even though he is better than the person they prefer to play, all the Falcons do is complain about the INT's he throws. He didnt have a great receiving core to work with. I still say Matt Ryan.

Miami's going to take Chris Long, if they keep the pick.
As for St. Louis, I'm going to say Jake Long, though Dorsey is an option, and Gholdston also could go. Homer comment: If any of Dorsey, Ellis or Gholdston miraculously fall to #9, Cincy HAS to pick one of the three. I really like Ellis actually, and I actually think he's at least on par with Dorsey. Quote:
![]() Since St. Louis isn't taking Ryan, Atlanta would do well by taking Ryan 3rd, IMO. Does anyone think Chris Redman is a permanent fixture? I certainly don't. They re-signed Harrington though, so I'm wondering if they wait until the 2nd round and take someone like Henne, and use the #3 pick on one of Jake Long, Dorsey, Gholdston or Ellis. However, I certainly hope they take Ryan. No they don't. Gholdston's going in the Top 10, maybe Top 5, but he's not rated ahead of Long.

As for your question Neo, Redman will not be a permanent fixture. As soon as they get a QB, its off to the bench for him. He had his moment of glory in the NFL, which is good for him. He's just not cut out to be a starting QB.
