ESPN - Sources: Pats suspected of stealing Jets' signals - NFL

The Patriots are accused of cheating and stealing signals by videotaping the opposing coaches and their signals & audibles. If this is true, they could be forced to relinquish draft picks, wins, etc.

Doesn't surprise me, plus Belichick knows Mangini up and down too, so he really knew what they were gonna do.

Something needs to be done. Not because the Pats wouldn't win without this method, but because its just unfair and illegal. They got busted for it, they should pay a price. A draft pick is fair.

Trouble trouble. There is video evidence so it shouldn't take long for the punishment to be announced. If they seriously pretend like it didn't happen I will owe an apology to all the conspiracy theorist who said the Patriots were handed playoff wins by the NFL.

Teams should suck it up. They did homework, so what. Honestly, if a team wants to get wins so bad that they are gonna do a little extra homework to learn the signals so they can signal steal from the line, they deserve to win. Any team that's willing to let an opposing team's player video tape them deserves to lose because that's a stupid move.

EDIt: only skimmed the article. If the rule is already in place about the camera, then take the camera and issue suspension if it happens again. But I stand by my 'signal stealing'/homework standpoint.

I guarantee you if they did this against the Bengals you would think so differently. It is a competitive issue, and to keep things fair you cannot video tape signals. The tapes teams use to study and game plan with are given to them by the league with audio taken out, for a good reason. They should lose at least a first round draft pick if to two draft picks. This is a serious offense IMO and they should be penalized severely.

As a Pats fan, It would sicken me to think that draft picks, fines or worse would be at stake.

Teams were warned about video equipment last year. If the pats were stupid enough to do it (again) after warnings were handed out..insane.

However, we have no proof yet....innocent til proven.

It's been proven and determined by the Commish, so no longer innocent. Look for the Pats to lose draft picks, fined, and probably some suspensions. This is a severe offense, so I wouldn't be surprised if the commish brings down the hammer.
