Well, there's no science to it at this point.

I don't believe in rookie hype.

I know that the standings rarely equate to a team's published draft success or failure. All the spin-doctor'ing going one right now is ridiculous.

I called the Panthers first in the South because they are still a fundamentally strong team on both sides of the ball and I believe they will fix the pass protection problems they had last year. I also believe David Carr will be the gunslinger heading into week one. Carr is a great QB who gets slandered unfairly IMO. I doubt even mighty Peyton would have made the Pro Bowl behind that line in HOU.

I called the Falcons last because the whole offense hinges on Vick and his abilities. With Schaub gone and a new coaching staff, I'm guessing they will implode entirely in the event of a suspension. My money is on a suspension going down by early, mid-season...say by Week 5. Falcons have a boatload of problems on defense notwithstanding.

The Saints will still be a good team but DCs now have a full season of film on Bush/Brees. I think they will be able to prepare much more effectively in '07 so I'm downgrading their ability to shock the sht out of teams with the unexepected.

The Bucs had nightmarish bad luck with their O-line and QBs last year. Gruden's as smart as they come in this league. I expect dramatic improvement.

Like I said, it's way too early for these type of prognostications. Typically, I like to reserve judgement until depth charts have been set for each team. I admit I can easily be wrong about much of this.

Hahah. I have faith in Al Saunders. Redskins are reborn under Jason Campbell.

I'm imagining Cowboys going 8-8. Redskins 9-7. Philly 11-5. Giants 5-11. something like that.

Let's see your rankings MS72. Just for the hell of it.

The whole thing. I already know how you'd probably lay out the East: Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, Redskins. You might rank the Giants over the Eagles just because of pure Eagle-hatred.

Vikings are starting with Tavarus Jackson. Think back to Alex Smith or any other rookie in year one.

49'ers have done NOTHING to earn the kind of praise you want to give them. They drafted well, made some trades but they still suck until they put all the pieces together. Norv Turner has left the building.

Easily. Check this:

Denver 3rd in the West? Behind the Chiefs? With no Willie Roaf?

Yup. 2006.

Panther's 2nd in the South? Behind the Saints?

Yup. 2006.

Miami (with Culpepper hype) last in the East? Behind the J-E-T-S

Yup. 2006.

You gotta expect the unexpected if you're gunna get it right my man.
