Man I would have a heart attack, because of my sheer joy and excitement, if the Brown's 1st rounder next season turned out to be the number one pick overall. If McFadden has an extraordinary year, we are definitely taking him with at least one of our first rounders.

Secondly, on the Texans. They don't have a huge issue on offense other than their O-line, so offense is not the issue laus. They want to sure up their defense, because defense is what gets you to the Super Bowl. You want to improve especially that D line and that is what they have done in the past two drafts. With Mario Williams and Okoye they will have a solid right side D line, they just need to solidify the left. The game of football is won in the trenches and if they can get a great D line they will dominate on D, and that is the key. The Texans have made great moves to improve their defense and are making efforts at improving their O-line.

They don't have huge issues on offense? They were ranked 27th on offense and 24th on defense. They got what looks to be an outstanding QB in Shaub, but he's unproven and they could stand to get better guys to catch and run the ball. The fact they were going to take Ginn if he was available tells you what they felt their needs were. Since Ginn was gone, they took Okoye. They're getting a very solid defense.

Defense doesn't always win championships, look at the last SB and the patriots are very well-rounded team.

Defense is more important and a larger key to a championship than offense. Defense will usually get you to the Super Bowl and will more than likely help you to win it.

If you look back the Patriots had a great defense to go along with their offense, their LB corps and their defensive schemes confused and dominated teams. Defense will win you a championship and maybe even two, but I agree it is not the only thing you need. When you look at all the great football dynasties they have a great defense and offense, ie. the Patriots, both Cowboys dynasties, the Steelers. They all have both great offenses and defenses, on of course better than the other but still top offenses and defenses.

I agree that the Texans would have probably taken Ginn right after the Dolphins, they would have wanted a young and pretty solid option for Shaub. The big reason why the Dolphins want to take Ginn so early is that Ginn would not make it through the second round no matter what. People are saying they took him too early because they can't take him anywhere else and had to take him at their only 1st round pick at number 9. They could have probably traded down to take him for value but they probably didn't feel like doing so. For the next 4-5 years Ginn's success will always be prepared to Quinn's success, just like Mario Williams and Reggie Bush will be compared. Ginn will have to be the next coming of Dante Hall in the return game and be a solid and productive receiver in order to truly quell any talk of a bad draft by the Dolphins in taking him 9th overall.

They could also end up looking very smart.

Its either trade it now or draft a worse QB who's not as far along with that pick next season. Time will tell if the trade works out, but given all the information available on the day in question, it was the right move IMO.
