Around the Horn, Football Boards Style
You all know the rules...
I'll start w/ a question, and the next poster "buys" it or "sells" it. A stance on your choice must be given...and then that poster chooses the next question. Here's #1 A.J Hawk will win defensive rookie of the year ? |

I "Sell" it.....
With a new Quarterback in San Diego, the defenses they play should play tight, so they can make him nervous....... This means LT will get hit at the line quite a bit, and his numbers will suffer. Will Indy's run game suffer, due to the loss of James? |

I'll but it...
Edge just turned 28 and may have yet to be at his best. He has rushed for more than 1, 250 yds in five of his seven seasons. IMO , not replaceable by just anyone... So indy looks to Dominic Rhodes, a man who is injury prone, and Joseph Addai, who is an unproven rookie. I could be wrong, but i just don't see indy's running game as strong as it used to be. Buy or sell... Pats rookie Laurence Maroney will take over the starting job from corey dillion at some point during this season. |

I will sell, the defenses are strong in Cinci's division this year and Palmer will have to get his touch and confidence back, which may take a few regular season games to adjust, while dealing with the pressures of repeating as division champs. I think they run more to keep Palmer healthy all season.
Do you buy the pre-season hype of the Dolphins? Why? |

I sell it.
I guess this would be more of a regional question. Consider the fact that i live about 45 minutes away from Gillette Stadium, we don't get alot of Dolphins hype. Nationally, if you talk about the fish...you talk culpepper. But what has culpepper really done...never won any major hardware, or brought the vikings to an NFC title game. And, the worst season of his career is one that he did not have moss to throw to and an injury. Other than Ronnie Brown and a fish defense that may be slighty better, i really don't see The fish (even with culpepper) winning the division. Buy or sell, The chargers will regret letting Drew Brees go. |

no matter what happens in NO, the chargers are gonna have to adjust with the new QB. and lets not forget that even though rivers has been in the system for 2 or 3 years, he still only has the feild experience of a rookie. buy or sell, Tony Romo plays more than 7 games as dallas' starting QB this reg season? |

I'll buy it.
Anyone can be in playoff "contention," but that doesn't mean they will make the playoffs. Arizone will NOT make the playoffs because they are Arizono. Warner will get banged up and certainly won't start all 16 games. Edge isn't going to get the yards as easilly in AZ as he did in Indy which will lead to frustration. Denny Green sucks. Could they possibly contend in that division? Yes, it is a pretty weak division. Will they goto the post season? No, not in my opinion. Will Eli beat up on Peyton in the Manning bowl opening day, leading to a Giants victory over the Colts?

Peyton is going to take Eli to school. I am predicitng a beating. I'll say 30-10 Colts. Buy or sell... Chad Pennington does not last the entire season for the Jets. |

The Jets good draft on linemen should help, but with Martin out Pennington will not have enough of a running game to draw heat of the china doll fragile Pennington. Buy or Sell: KC's d will be strong enough to get them into the post season? |

I'll buy it.
New coach, new defensive scheme, fresh blood on the line, and Herm the Master Motivator (you play to win the game...hello?). WC at best, but if the D can hold it together, they'll get in. Now it's up to LJ and the offense to get them the rest of the way. Andrew Walter replaces Aaron Brooks as starting QB in Oakland. Buy or Sell? |
