Browns to get #1 overall?

Accourding to sources the Cleveland Browns are working out a deal with the Raiders to swap first round picks and the Browns send Braylon Edwards to the Raiders. The Browns will then select Calvin Johnson. Also Browns confirm that they will take Johnson if he is there and no trade goes down. Source KFFL - The Hottest NFL, MLB and Fantasy News!

That would be pretty wild. No one thought the Browns would really be in the mix at all. Given their need at RB, and arguably QB, I find this very odd, and a bit unlikel;y

Wow, this would be great for the Raiders. Pick up Edwards and still draft Russell or Quinn. It's also being reported the Raiders are actively shopping Randy Moss for a 2nd round pick so from the Raiders stand point this deal makes perfect sense. As for the browns this deal is highly illogical.

Your kidding right? No one should draft either of these QBs ahead of Johnson, that's insane! Even if Oak doesn't trade out they should draft Johnson. He is a stud WR with no character issue's. I heard someone say he is T.O. but with speed, hands, and with out the ego... that's a pretty good assesment.

There are 3 viable options for that with the first pick in the 2nd round.

Maybe, but you also forget they have Charlie Frye that showed signs in his 2nd year. If I was Cleveland there is no way I take a QB weather I draft 1st overall or 3rd. I am taking either Johnson or Peterson. Frye can play.

He showed some signs last year. Man I am just not sold on Russell, IMO there are way too many question marks to be taking him #1 overall. It amazes me that franchises always do this. They have the worst record in the league so they draft first and because QB is the most important position they think well we must take the best QB in the draft. That's just stupid, niether Quinn or Russell would have gone in the top 10 last year. Don't draft a player just because he is the best at his position draft the best freak'n player and build a team around him. Why do so many first round QBs bust? Because teams throw comon sense out the window and draft a questionable QB high just because he happens to be the best in a weak class. They are destined to fail.

Charlie Frye can definately play, he just needs a veteran to help him improve on decison making. He's had to learn under Ken Dorsey and Derek Anderson which isn't good to say the least. O yea he did have Trent Dilfer but Dilfer didn't like Frye due to Frye replacing him mid season of '05 and the fans turing on Dilfer, so I don't think Dilfer worried about helping Frye too much. Which is exactly why I don't want Quinn or Russell becasue they'd have to learn under Frye, Dorsey & Anderson's wings.
