Has Randy Moss lost a step or steps?

It seems like the excuse for Moss is he needs to be on a better team,or he just needs better work ethic. I watched a lot of Raider games last season, and it seems like he has a hard time getting seperation from DB's like he did in the past. Even in 1 on 1 matchups,he can not get that seperation like before. He never was the greatest route runner, and relied more on his speed and athletic ability.

Nice first post and welcome.

I caught the same thing this past season. I had a hard time figureing out if he lost a step or if he was just that more lazy. At any rate i think his career as we knew it... for all intents and puposeses is over.

That is very hard to tell, because you don't know how many plays he takes off. Lost a step or not I would not want him on my team, but heck I have TO so all my worries are gone.

He is one of those guys that only plays to the level of the people around him.

TO has a problem with being a selfish teammate. His work ethic has always been very good. He makes up for any lost speed ,by working hard on his route running. I still would not want him on my team though . Randy relied so much on speed.

Good point!

The problem with Moss is it's to hard to tell if it's a loss of speed deal or simply just poor work ethics. All i know is i'm a disgruntled Raider fan that wants Moss gone.

it sure would seem that way. I think its he is a bit lazy and he is getting older so he just isnt as skilled/athletic as he once was.

Goose is it down pat.

He is the type that plays exactly the level that is around him. If everyone else elevates their play, he does also. This is why Randy Moss is never going to be a leader, he's a puzzle piece that fits in on teams that lack a WR but are strong everywhere else.

If Pittsburgh were to land him, i wouldn't mind. I know that the others around him would elevate his play, the team is strong and it would rub off on him. But in Oakland, they have soo many damn problems with trying to build a team that can compete each season, i don't even understand why players would want to go there. That franchise just seems like it's forever going to be in a rutt. It's almost better if they freakin move the team elsewhere, fresh start, easy way to cut the fat and just rebuild properly.

I used to be a Raiders fan, i have jersies, t-shirts and even a stuffed football that's worth quite a bit that i keep. Steelers & Raiders along with the Cowboys were my team, Raiders now aren't so much a team i even want to catch a glimpse of.

You see this in sports all the time, guys that are hyped that people think are the franchise, then they get traded and they just don't fit on the team because you realize they aren't a leader and that they fit well in a group that elevates that said player's play. You see it a lot in the NHL, currently with Nagy & Forsberg on their new teams. Good players, just not on certain teams.

Dude, how do you have 3 teams? And all 3 are amongst the most popular.

I do believe Moss has lost a step or 2, but he can still be a 1,000 yard, 8 or 9 TD guy with the talent he has, I think hes has also lost the love of the game, being on an awful team, really, debate between moss TO whos worse, i dont want either one.

Pittsburgh Steelers was from when i was little, i have an uncle that lives there and he got me into the Steelers back in '88. Penguins fan since i was 4-5yrs old, again, that uncle.

The Cowboys, my buddy Chris is a huge fan of them and i grew up being an Aikman fan, he was like a QB god to me, him and Marino. And who didn't like Bo Jackson? Bo knows everything!

I really only follow the Steelers & Cowboys carefully, the Saints not so much and when the Texans came out i thought their logo was cool so i kept up how they were doing until last season.
