2007 Mock Draft... Thoughts?

1. Arizona
Joe Thomas (OT) - One of the top prospects in the Nation, this is what they need more then anything. Only other option is trading down.

2. Detroit
Brady Quinn (QB) - Jon Kitna isn't the franchise QB they need and Quinn is.

3. Oakland
Calvin Johnson (WR) - Porter and Moss are on their way out the door, and Johnson is the best in the Nation.

4. Tampa Bay
Gaines Adams (DE) - To call their DL old is an understatement. This is a team that is desperate for youth and Gaines is one of the best in the Country.

5. Tennesse
Adrian Peterson (RB) - Even after the injury, he's the Top RB this draft, and with Brown wanting out, White not being what they had hoped, and Henry not being the future, look for Peterson to go here.

6. Miami
Leon Hall (CB) - For a team that has enjoyed the likes of Sam Madison and Partrick Surtain, look for them to go with Hall.

7. Houston
Marshawn Lynch (RB) - Considering they are a team that has averaged 76yds/game rushing and is one of the worst in the Nation, Lynch should be an obvious pick, but I've been suprised before

8. Cleveland
Ted Ginn (WR) - a 32yr old Jurevicoius could use some talent behind him and would help Edwards. Ginn is one of the best WR's in the Country - their other option would be Dwayne Jarrett.

9. Pittsburgh
Quentin Moses (DE) - From Champs to Bums, this team has seen it all. Moses is a logical pick for a Defensive minded Cowher led Team.

10. Washington
Paul Posluszny (LB) - All-time Leading Tackler in Penn State History, this is the guy Washington has been looking for.

11. Buffalo
Sam Baker (OT) - What can I say, they need help on the line, and Madison is a great option for them here.

12. Minnesota
Dwayne Jarret (WR) - With their young group of WR's not living up to expectations, look for them to go after Jarret.

13. St. Louis
Michael Griffin (S) - A team hurting on defense, this would be a solid option for them and would be the 2nd Texas Safety to go in the 1st round.

14. Green Bay
Laron Landry (S) - AJ Hawk last year, Landry this year. Marquand just isn't working out and this team's pass defense is getting picked apart.

15. San Francisco
Jake Long (OT) - They need help everywhere, but when rebuilding, the OL is the place to start.

16. Philadelphia
Aaron Ross (CB) - Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown ... decent combo but either one could be a free agent at the end of the year. Watch for them to look at Hall or Ross depending on if they want a lockdown Corner or a hard hitting Turnover machine.

MaddHatter, great presentation. Where do you see Daymeion Hughes going? I think he's the best corner in the country.

Ginn is a Junior so we don't even know if he is going into this draft, let alone the positions of the teams.

It's a bit early for a mock draft, IMO.

I think he needs to add a few pounds to compete with the stronger WR's in the NFL (TO), but with a solid showing in the combine, Look for him to get attention from Cincinatti, Atlanta and San Diego - I'd expect a 20-25th Overall pick. His biggest competition will be with Darrelle Revis and could bump him back to the late 1st round

Ginn will have his NC Ring and no reason to return... He's already seen what can happen if you stay in the NCAA too long (Michael Bush) and will want to get paid while he can. I have no doubt he declares

As for too early? Seasons over... Championships and Bowl Games are all that remain, the NFL teams have had their weaknesses exposed, I think the timing is fine for first round draft picks

Heres my Mock Draft
1. Detroit Lions
Brady Quinn QB (Notre Dame) – IMO he’s overrated but the Lions need a franchise QB

2. Arizona Cardinals
Joe Thomas OT (Wisconsin) – they definitely need offensive line help

3. Oakland Raiders
Adrian Peterson RB (Oklahoma) – They need help everywhere but he’s the best prospect on the board

4. Houston Texans
Leon Hall CB (Michigan) – The Texans secondary is atrocious they need another CB to help Dunta Robinson

5. Washington Redskins
Gaines Adams DE (Clemson) – They need a pass rusher with speed and he can play linebacker in a 3-4 scheme

6. Cleveland Browns
Calvin Johnson WR (Georgia Tech) – They need help on Defense but Calvin is one of the best WR prospect in years

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jamarcus Russell QB (LSU) - Chris Simms is not the answer and since Big athletic QB’s have been a hot commodity this is a sure pick

8. Tennessee Titans
Allan Branch DT (Michigan) – Tennessee could stand to upgrade on Defense and Branch was rated pretty high as a Junior

9. Minnesota Vikings
Ted Ginn Jr. WR (Ohio State) - Lack of a playmaker at WR have them taking Ginn

10. St. Louis Rams
Quentin Moses DE (Georgia) – Rams could use a pass rusher and Moses was a top senior prospect at the beginning of the season

11. Green Bay Packers
Jake Long OT (Michigan) – When there are so many needs to be addressed go with O-Line, Long is the next in a long line of great Michigan O-linemen

12. Pittsburgh Steelers
Justin Blalock OG (Texas) – Pitt really has no glaring needs but when you depend so much on the run …Offensive line needs to be addressed

13. Miami Dolphins
Sam Baker OT (USC) - This will be the fourth Offensive lineman taken in the 1st round and the Miami O-Line sucks

14. Buffalo Bills
Dwayne Jarrett WR (USC) – The Bills need an explosive playmaker and Jarrett has outstanding size and blazing speed

15. New York Jets
Marshawn Lynch RB (California) – Curtis Martin’s career is over and the running back by committee they have going is not the answer

16. San Francisco 49ers
Quinn Pitcock DT (Ohio State) - Since they’ll most likely go after a CB in free Agency they will probably address D-line with this pick since they can’t stop no one

17. Philadelphia Eagles
Paul Posluszney OLB (Penn ST.) – The Eagles desperately need a starting LB and they have Puz rated pretty high

(I stopped at 17 but if you want me to go to 32 let me know)

No way does Oakland go AP here when they have LaMont coming back next year and they have more pressing needs elsewhere.

This is a solid pick if they do go defense instead of offense again.

Tampa Bay has their QB in Gradkowski - no way they go after Russell, especially this high in the draft. Especially with Chucky having the most say in that decision.

All 3 are solid picks for those teams

Overall I agree with most of your picks as highly probable - Great input

it's really tuff to say who goes where cause we still don't know how they will be slotted but the reason I have Oakland taking AP because he would be the highest rated player still on the board and he's a legit game breaker just like New Orleans taking Bush when they still had Deuce, nowadays every team needs 2 solid backs to be successful in the league if they have the chance to take AP they better cause he’s a can’t miss talent

Chucky likes Bruce Gradkowski and he's fared about as well as a rookie 6th round pick can be expected to but he's still probably more of a backup at the pro level.JaMarcus Russell is actually a better pro prospect and while the Daunte Culpepper comparisons are pretty accurate what really stands out is his arm strength, which might be as good as anyone's in the game.

But it is all too soon to tell….great input Hatter

I see where your going here and agree, a RBBC is becoming more popular in the NFL, however, the Raiders and Art have bigger needs then a RB and will probably try and fix that pain with the BPA at that position, not just the BPA overall. IMO they need a better T on both sides, they are REALLY going to need a WR if Moss AND Porter both leave, AND you know Art would love to get a big gun QB in there.

Grad has looked good as a starter, and with the more exposure he gets, I think he could have a future. If TB DOES go after a QB, I'd expect them to go after Smith over Russell, but that's just an opinion based on no facts

Yea i can see them taking Calvin Johnson since Doug Gabriel is gone and Porter is almost out the door too. But then again since they do need O-Line help so bad they could probably trade down and still pick up an extra pick in the process. that would be the smart thing to do.

I see the cowboys landing somewhere in the high 20s (28 for example) and would love to see them snag Amobe Okoye to train under Ferguson

The other option would be Levi Brown or Sam Baker
