Alex Smith is the QB and I'm hoping he has a breakout year, he also has some pretty big targets to throw to but it's their defense that has really made some big moves which is well needed.

Key Players: Alex Smith
Frank Gore
Nate Clements

If those three players have a good year, the rest of the team will reflect that. I think they will make the wildcard and lose this year. Next year if they pick up some good FAs and rookies, they make divisionals.

Patrick Willis will have a big impact for the Niners as well.

I was very pleased with 9ERS preseason debut Alex Smith found his targets early and often, throwing with good precision. The defense struggled at first too many missed tackles, gotta wrap them up alot better than that.

They're just comming into their own. The defence for the 9ers was never a big factor in franchise history as far as I know. Always offence. Now they have a good offence and defence. Alex Smith looks good throwing, and the D just needs a bit more improvement.

San Francisco 49ers

As long as Gore, V. Davis and A. Smith stay healthy along with our young D guys we will make the playoffs this year. They just have to good of talent all around not to.

Preseason and it's the Raiders but Alex Smith looked good again, also the defense looked much better led by Patrick Willis with 8 tackles. He's a beast, a living nightmare thats gonna reek havoc in the NFL.

9ers have found a combination that works. They are probably playoff bound.

Close to a playoffs spot maybe, but playoff bound close but short. They have to beat out other teams which have a solid chance: Saints, Bears, Seahawks, Rams, Cowboys, Eagles. Panthers may make a run at it as may Arizona if their defense shapes up.

NFC West is wide open, any team can win the division.

I like what Sean Salisbury said on ESPN last night, the NFC west won't be the best division by far, but it will be the most competitive. I think the Rams win the division, but it's a toss up.
