A.Smith with 3 INT's and a fumble, V.Davis with another good game 7 receptions and 77yds, Robinson and Hicks combined for 116yds on 24 carries, defense played great only allowing 20 points when Alex had 4 turnovers, Willis had 10 tackles and a sack. Losing to the Falcons puts an end to this season now with a 2-6 record they must win every game.

More OL trouble LT Jonas Jennings is done for the season with an ankle injury and RG Justin Smiley might soon join him with a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

A promising season at the start has gone down the drain.

I was just loving all the 49er boasting before the season started. It just makes this underachieving even better. 49ers SUCK.

Welcome Cheezy but the 4-4 Seahawks won't be doing much this season either.

Really has been a weak division. I was expecting a lot more from all the teams.

Alex isn't getting any better, he has the worst QB rating in the league. Gore looked good with only 13 carries, why not run him more ? Battle was the only one with some receiving yards and where was Vernon ? He needs the ball so throw it to him. Someone fire Jim Hostler, please !!! Defense played good again, considering what the offense left them with every time.

And you 49er fans got to be hating the fact that the Pats have your 1st round pick next draft.

Wow we are officially the worst team in the league besides Miami and even they have more yards than we do. You know i backed A. Smith after he was drafted but i never wanted him i wanted A. Rodgers and i still feel it was a mistake but they either need to get someone to help A. Smith like Norv did or find another QB. Im not blaming it all on Smith because our o-line sucks as well but Alex should be better than what he is.

Yes i am hating it because the NE Patriots will get a top 1st round pick from us which just adds to our misery. Im one pissed of 9er fan right now.

Sorry to hear its so bad in Niner land. At least you can still step outside and enjoy the rainbows.

It realize it makes sense to run Gore more but not down 17-0. You can't sell on Alex Smith yet, he's all you got really. McNabb is the only potential free agent QB that could outplay Alex Smith. It makes no sense to bring in a Brian Griese or someone like that. He had good games like that last year, he's shown some potential just give him time. Don't throw a good QB in the trash.

Im saying get him some help to guide him like Norv Turner did last year. Im also saying i never wanted him in the first place at the draft i wanted A. Rodgers but since we drafted him i have backed him but he needs some help now and they better get it for him.

NFL_WIZARD is an unknown quantity at this point
Alex Smith is certainly proved to be a decent back up, worth about 1/8 of what he is being paid. However, it is not his fault, I see no seperation from his WR's, Battle is average at best. Honestly, it looks like another string of 5-11 seasons for the 49'ers.

Smith benched and Dilfer starts, they're actually throwing to VD. Defense is struggling with the run.
