Um they didn't have 10 losses last season, they had only 9. And they did sweep the Seahawks last season. I can easily see them sweeping the Hawks again, more than likely the Cards too, and they probably split with the Rams.

The point is that the NFC West is the closest from 1 to 4 than any other division. If Arizona won the division, it could be considered an upset, though certainly not as big an upset as last year's Saints team in some minds. Anybody else would not be an upset. You are looking at 9-7, 8-8, 8-8, 7-9 possibility here. Gun to my head I still go with Seattle, but I sure would not put any money on that.

49ers season
hey nfl wizard last i checked noone on the 49ers said no guarented they would win 10 games. oh wait thats kitna. how many games did the lions win? 7. thats 3 short. and the lions didnt have anywhere the injuries the 49ers did. id like to see what nfl team could make the playoffs having 3 starting qbs injured. not to mention our all pro running back missed 2 games our tight end was out. our starting outside linebacker. 3 offensive lineman. now talk about injury train stopping in town.
and of course check out the 5 trophies sitting in our trophy case. every lions fan wonders whats it like. just remeber that when you bash a real team. niner |

The only story SF has written in the past 7 years is one of incompetent coaches, horrible QB's and the worst draft record in any sport. Good luck finding another Bill Walsh and good luck on another 20 years of franchise failure.

That being said, true things are ruff in SF these days, but if Gore can continue to contribute and if Alex Smith can do his thing, then they might not be that bad in the long run... |

HAHAHA what is this a Lions fan talking about another teams bad drafts. what is wrong with this picture?
I think Kitna needs to stop watching so many Joe Namath highlight videos. I'm a fan of the Green and Gold, but I respect the history of the 49ers and some of the great battles that the Pack and the Niners had in the 90's. I've tried to find something respectable about the Lions but I always come up empty handed.

Fair enough, Lions draft bad too.
At least you guys get cheerleaders. The Lions have never had any, they use local High School girls teams. Sadly, they match the talent on the field as well.

Man was this thread wrong or what. lol
the Niners pulled a Dan Snyder move by getting Darell Jackson and Clements and them not coming through for the team. Their rb got injured a bit and the QB blew chunks, reminds me an alot like the Redskins the last few years. |

oh come on
why is everyone so rough on the niners but never on anyone else? clements did not do that bad! 92 tackle 1 sack 3 forced fumble 4 interceptions that is not that bad of stats. considering the fact the top five went for an average of the top 5 on the interceptions is only 66.2 tackles 0 sacks 0 forced fumbles and 7.6 interceptions. so below on just one stat isnt what i would call a bust. and i wouldnt call an addition that helped a team go from dead last in the league to 22nd. now that doesnt sound fantastic but just remeber that the 49ers offense was awful. so the defense spent more time on the field. the addition of patrick willis was a bigger impact. jackson didnt live up to expecations at all. gore was hurt and you said that but alex smith seperates his throwing shoulder and hes "blew chunks??" come on man thats just lame.

Heres a short and brief explanation for the 9ers not living up to their expectations, I'll try and keep my cool by starting off with all the injuries. One side of the OL was out most of the season while the other side was off and on, A. Smith played less then half the season, Gore had a foot and hand injury, and V. Davis had a knee injury. Jim Hostler was the worst OC ever and now he's gone for that reason. Coach Nolan is hanging by a string and will be fired if it's a repeat. Owner John York knows nothing about football, I feel like I'm being held hostage by this idiot. Finally to end on a positive note, the defense played exceptionally well given all the time they were out there and bad field positions they were left with from a constant 3 and out offense. Five years of torture is enough, changes must be made if this continues to go on weather it's coaching, ownership, relocation, GM, or QB. I'm a true die hard fan and will always watch or listen to every game no matter what but it's killin me.
