Players you miss watching...

I was watching the Rams vs Lions game last week (I don't know why) and started thinking about all the players I miss watching (b/c there were no players in that game that I actually wanted to watch). Some names that came to mind were Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, Marshall Faulk, etc.

Who do you miss watching?

I miss watching Earl Campbell running rampant over the Steelers or any other team for that matter. He was a true thoroughbred that could run through you, over you or around you. He had the uncanny ability to keep his legs moving even when it looked like a 5 yard loss and if he dropped his shoulder you just knew he was going to plow through some poor unsuspecting defender.

I miss watching Mark Bavaro who was a lunch pail type of guy that would just show up to work day in day out and play his tail off. In 87' the one handed catch that became a signature of his, In 86' when he took 4 defenders along with him down field for more than 10 yards. Bavaro could get the tough yards like John Riggins, but he would also go over the middle and destroy zone coverage. One of the most underrated TE's to ever play the game.

I just miss the NFL of old, the way it used to be played ruff and rugged, when QB's weren't coddled and could get mauled without serious repercussions.

Anyone remember when Lawrence Taylor absolutely destroyed Joe Theisman? that was nasty

Too soon to say Tedy Bruschi? OK then, if I can resurrect one guy in his prime? Walter Payton.
