Saints possibly moving up

A lot of talk lately about the Saints moving up to #2 to grab LSU boy Glen(n) Dorsey. I imagine the Saints would have to give up their 2nd rounder and #10 overall in a deal of this nature. I don't think I would have a problem with that assuming Dorsey has passed all his physicals with flying colors. Dorsey in the middle would be a huge boon for this defense and for the first time in a long time people might actually be talking about it being a strength of this team, rather than a reason they are losing.

More realistically though I can see them trading up a few spots past Cincinatti in order to draft Sedrick Ellis.

Yea moving to #2 does not sound like a smart move. It's going to take more than #10 and #40 to move up that high, maybe throw in a future 2nd rd and then the points start to match up. Plus doing all that to nab someone with a question mark on their health status screams desperate. You're better off going Ellis in the 1st or else grab DRC & target Sims in the 2nd (if he's still there)

i think they should stay at 10 and get a DB or LB. yeah Dorsey would be a great pick and instantly be a fan favorite, but there is more need than DT

I think that they really need a CB

They could use another one, however a big game breaking DT would take tons of pressure off the defense as a whole....even the secondary. Problem with taking a CB at 10 is that none are really valued that high. Right now apparently their options (in order of preference from what I understand) are:

1. Trade up to #2 or #3 to draft Dorsey that would take a lot and not likely happening

2. Trade past Cinci and take Ellis which is a strong possiblity and wouldn't cost another 1st

3. Stay at 10 and draft Keith Rivers. The health and contributions of Vilma and Morgan are questionable.

4. Stay at 10 and draft Mike Jenkins if Rivers is gone. Jenkins is not worth the 10th pick in the draft IMO. His character issues aside, I'm not sold on him...but I'm not sold on any CB this high honestly.

Should be fun.

My optimal situation is to trade up to 7 or 8 and take Ellis and give up a future 2nd or something plus the 10th.
