from what i saw on NFL network he's not sure about retiring and they just placed him on IR cause of his neck. but i think he should. he's 1st in bucs history in TDS 2nd in rush yds and 3rd in receptions

Yep, that's the story as of now. I hope he retires too. Athletes who hang on too long and become mediocre and are remembered for that are disappointing. Mike Alstott was a freaking beast a few years back.

yea i remember watching in and he is a monster, hopefully he retires and just goes out in style not like some pitiful old man trying to prove a point

That shouldn't happen though because Mike Alsott is IMO the best Fullback to ever play in the NFL.

yeah and what he does,run people over repeatedly, is very difficult. i tried it the other day at football practice and its not easy. now granted i'm 5'8'' 145lbs and he's huge but still you get my point. lets just say my neck hurts right now

Alstott was a great power back who's career is likely over.

As a FB though? He was quite over-rated.

It is hard to call somebody a great FB when they lined up behind a lead blocker. If there is a lead blocker in front of you, they are playign FB, you are playing RB.

Alstott was a great versatile back who could line up at either spot. He wasn't a good enough blocker to be a great FB today but didn't have the speed to be a featured back either.
