I'm On Vick's Side

I'm definatly on Vick's side. What Jim Mora Sr. did was completely uncalled for and I like the way that Jr. is handling this. To tell you the truth, I don't blame Vick for flipping the crowd the bird, they deserved it. It wasn't his fault that they lost the game... it was everyone else's fault. Seriously, the O Line sucked, the WR sucked, Crumpler sucked, and their running game sucked (except Vick). Vick did everything he could.

I agree that the Falcons recievers are all thumbs, and its difficult to throw while you're getting saked...but that still doesn't excuse Vicks immature gesture. He his the leader of this team, then he should lead. His frustration with his team should be hashed out in the locker room, not on the field with the fans.
Don't get me wrong here, Vick is a Va.Tech man, and he did great things for the program in his brief stent as QB. I like Vick, but he is not above repremand for his actions.

Oh, I completely agee with you that he should get repremanded for flipping them the bird, but the fan's should realize that he tried as hard as he could to win that game, and they shouldn't boo him for that. But hey, a nice fine'll be coming to him.

I've heard alot of the ESPN half-wits saying Vick should be benched, its time for Schaub to play...

Schaub did good things at UVA, but what the Falcons need do to is rebuild the offense around Vick. Besides, Vick sells tickets, do they really wan't to give that up?

Your thoughts/opinions on this one?

Hmmm, never thought about that, Schaub is one of the better backup QBs in this league, but I don't think it's quite time for Vick to be benched, like I said, he tried his hardest last game, but if they lose 1 or 2 more games and they know their not gunna make it to the playoffs, why not give Schaub a go. Couldn't hurt. Good topic though.

Whoa whoa whoa. Was he responding to boos or heckles?

If there are heckles that cross the line I can understand his reaction but a chorus of boos after 4 straight losses? Come on. Paying fans can boo away. The fans should boo the heck out of Vick and his teammates. When you pay that much to go to a game a fan has a right to boo. Look at Vick's salary - he should be accountable for some, not all, of the team's failures.

Atlanta Falcons I agree

Vick is just as frustrated as everyone.
The fans need to know that his actions
were not so much at them, but at the
way the team has played. And the media
will always blame the QB. Look he has more yards
rushing than any of his RB's who are suppose to
be carring the ball not Him.
Yet the fans Boo. Vick. It is nit his fault
Football is a team sport. so for the Fans and the Media
to single out Vick is wrong. Sure is actions may have
been inappropriate, but Vick is just as Frustrated
as Everyone else.

Vick isint the Falcons started in '07. Like everyone else in the world I love to watch Mike play and his running performance sunday was spectacular. However, if you cant throw the ball or punch it in on the frickin 5 yard line, or recognize the plays arent working so audible them you dont mean much to your organization. Being marketable only lasts so long without winning. Look at basketball. Wade is the most marketable player in the game right now and alot of people couldnt give two ****s about whatever shoe Lebron or Mcgrady or whoever is hocking because they arent winners, they're overhyped and overpaid.

I love Vick. Even after yesterday he's still my favorite player. There is no one like him in the league. I don't think he should have done that, though. There are far too many young kids watching the game who idolize him. That's something these athletes have to keep in mind... just how many people are watching. Cameras are everywhere (and catch everything).

"Michael Vick's frustrations with fading playoff hopes and unexpected insults from home fans caused him to flash an obscene hand gesture on Sunday." So apperentantly there was a guy in the crowd that was heckling Vick as he walked off the field. There's a picture of the the dude mouthing off at Vick and him fingering the crowd at http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9832259

HAHAHA!! Classic...

As for Vick/Shaub - What if they went with the I-Formation, and put Vick behind Dunn and Shaub... that could get interesting... turn Vick into another LT

flipping the bird

michael vick is supposed to be a professional.a $20,000 bird is not the way you make friends at home.the team needs to get a qb and put birdman in a running spot.

Are you guys f*ckin' kidding me? So the Falcons are in a 4 game slump, it's not like that's never happened in football before. The team is going to come out of this slump and people need to take it easy on Vick. It's not like he's not trying to win these games, it's the rest of the team that's doing sh*tty. It's disgusting hearing all of these rumours about benching Vick, putting him on a god damn running spot and sh*t like this. It's pretty stupid to tell you the truth.
