thats okay its your opinion. IMO they will never win a SB in MN. if they build a stadium in anoka or blaine or any other twin cities suburb, they will just get more hype and a bit more money but they just dont ever live up to expectations. new stadiums arent the "cure-all". look at the cardinals, it doesnt instant fix anything. i live in the TC, and i think a lot of vikings fans are riding this new stadium as the solution. IMO, it is much more than that.

Other than being a Packer fan, was is your reasoning?

You need an owner willing to spend, enough revenue streams to allow him to, a coach who knows what they are doing and a talented roster.

They got the owner.

Who knows if they have the coach or not, but they can at some point.

They have certainly had talented enough rosters.

Only item missing is the money.

To say a team won't ever win a SB just because they won't isn't a valid reason.

As for the Cards, why don't you give the Stadium FIVE GAMES before drawing a conclusion. Ravens won it all once they got a new home (which allowed them to bring in some high-priced FAs like Sharpe and Woodson). Pats won it all once they got a new home. Steeler's new home allowed them to keep their top players from leaving (Hampton, Smith, Ward, Farrior, Porter). Bucs won it all shortly after their new home was built. In fact, I bet you can go back through virtually all the recent SuperBowl winners and see that they have had increased revenue streams via a new Stadium in recent past.

That isn't to say a new stadium will do it, just that it is PART of the equation. Specifically, the money it generates. That money allows teams to be aggressive in FA to address needs. Allows them to pay a premium coaching staff. And allows them to ensure they can keep their top FAs from walking.

i agree with a lot of what you say, but people in the TC thought that with McCombs as an owner it would lead to a SB. They went 15-1 with the highest scoring O and lost. They also lost 41-0. They lost 4 super bowls in the past. It just has the feeling of a jinxed franchise in MN. Only time will tell if the current changes and a new stadium change the culture of the team. For MN fans, i hope it helps. I just think that it wont.

That 15-1 season was Red's 1st or 2nd season. He stopped putting money into the team and had among the lowest operating cost of any NFL teams. He was as cheap as cheap could get, especially off-the-field where the coaching staff could hold a meeting in a taxi cab and the facilities were community college caliber. In a symbolic microcosm of the Red regime, the Viking Ship over in Eden Prairie was rotting away. Red put only as much money into the team as he was obligated too and only spent on the those cornerstone players that would make it attractive for sale. He wanted a new stadium built, but wouldn't spend a dime of his own cash.

Losing past SuperBowls means nothing. No team has ever won a SuperBowl until they won a SuperBowl. Be it the Patriots, Ravens, Broncos or who-ever.

Wilf may be another Red in disguise. Who knows. But to say that the Vikes simply won't win because they are in Minnesota is just silly. Might was well say the Eagles will never win as long as they are in Philly, the Browns will never win as long as they are in Ohio, or the Bills will never win as long as they are in Buffalo. Keep in mind that nobody thought the Patriots would ever win anything either. Until they did and people started to think they may be the next dynasty.

no team has won a superbowl until they won a superbowl? thats some amazing logic!!!! once AGAIN, i just dont see good things in MN, I think they are jinxed, and thats how i feel. now if disgruntled vikings fans think thats "silly" or whatever, thats there opinion. but i feel how i feel and until they actually DO something to make an impression on me to the contrary, then i will remain a skeptic.

And AGAIN, you have nothing to base that on. Other than being a Packer fan.

I guess the meaning of my statement was lost on you. EVERY team is jinxed and can't win it. Until they go out and prove otherwise.

Well, if the Vikings are jinxed, it's not because of our stadium, that's for sure. And I don't think they are... I think it's just a matter of time. Maybe it's not all there this year, but with a few changes (new QB?) I think we'll get there, new stadium or not.

I predict neither the Vikings nor the Bills will win a Super Bowl before 2048.

At that time the Vikings and Bills will face off in the Super-Duper Bowl, and with 2 minutes left in the fourth quarter with the game tied at 17-17, a giant meteorite will strike the stadium, ending all life on the planet earth, and any chance of either the Vikings or Bills to win the big game.

every game the last decade or so?? b4 moss they were getting blacked out like 3 times a year cause they couldn't sell out. and half the ones that weren't blacked out were sold out because a couple big corporations in the twin sister cities would buy all them up, (money under the table??)

Yeah it's hard to picture certain teams winning super bowls but I ask you to go back 10 years to 1996.Would you ever think of the Rams winning, the Bucs, the Patriots, or the bloody Ravens!

The NFL of all sports allows for underdogs and long time losers to have their day with a good turn of events here and there.
