What will Favre do next?

Has anyone else heard that Favre may switch teams? I heard tell that he has said he'll switch if a team offers a deal and they have a chance of making it to the Super Bowl.

Frankly ... let him go. I know he was a great player and he hit upon the Pack at just the right time with key players to really bring out his talent and be on the receiving end of it ... but that team doesn't exist anymore and I think we need a new quarterback.

Even though he has done great these past two weeks, I think this will be his last year playing in the NFL. He stated once before, that he would like to retire as a Green Bay Packer. I feel that when he does go, that's the way he should do it. When you think of Brett Favre, you see him in their colors, he wouldn't look right in any others........

You know, I totally agree. To hear that Farve is shopping around right now surprises the heck outta me. I expected (and still expect, I guess) Brett to retire as a Packer. To shop around now seems surprisingly unclassy to me. I wouldn't have guessed it.

It was some weeks ago that this was discussed elsewhere. He said something in an interview that gave rise to it all.

If he stinks this year, oh well ... but at least retire as a Packer. Anything else just doesn't seem right.

When I say "let him go" it's because it chafes me to think he may want to switch teams and his heart isn't HERE. He needs to, in the words of my grandfather, fish or cut bait.

Green Bay Packers ur an idiot

he said there's a .01% chance of it, if u don't think his heart is in GB, than u didn't watch the game on sunday!! u don't know what ur talking about. he's not gonna go anywhere, and if they finish around .500 he might come back next year to see what might happen.

I have to agree with katzenboyer. Favre said that IF the Packers wanted to move in another direction he MIGHT consider playing with another team. If he could still play, he would be nuts not to consider it. Remember Montana and Rice playing for other teams? Remember that Lombardi himself came out of retirement to coach in Washington? As a fan, I love watching him break records every time he plays, but would wish him well if it works out that he moves on for his last season or two.

I do remember when Montana and Rice moved to other teams, and I feel they also played past their time. Watching Montana in KC just killed me, since he was so great in SF. And seeing the way that Rice went out in Denver, was also not all that great. Although they still wanted to play, and they actually were able to still do their thing, the magic that they had was no longer there.......

Hey, if he can get someone to pay the bills go ahead and play, but it may be at the expense of a greater legacy. Just my two cents a a bit of pocket lint.

Don't forget in 2 yrs in KC, Montana led the Chiefs to the playoffs twice and one AFC championship appearance vs. Buffalo.

Rice did the same for the Raiders and played in a Super Bowl (could have been two if not for the Tuck Rule) plus he played for a Seattle team that won the division.

Yes it was painful, yes they were past prime, but I don't agree about magic they had was no longer there whatever that means.

Rice in Denver - that was only in training camp/preseason so I'm not counting it.
