Bears QB may not be decided until end of Preseason

I guess it is tough to decide between two guys who have both been starters and pulled for inability to get results.

Lovie Smith said the competition could last until the last week of preseason.

So if my count isn't off the Bears had 22 different starters at QB in the time since Brett Favre took over in Green Bay.

Any reason they didn't draft a Quarterback in the draft, has anyone heard a answer to that question yet?

What scares me is that the Bears starting QB question may not be answered until the end of the REGULAR SEASON. As far as drafting a QB is concerned, what do you think they should have done? I'm not convinced that there was a decent QB in the entire draft. All I heard was a lot of hype by the hype masters at ESPN.

Matt Ryan could be a good qb but the Falcons cant go with him immediately. As for the Bears, well Orton is my choice.

agree. Orton should have not been benched a couple years ago when he led them to the playoffs

Yes, he should have.

He was utterly wretched. They made the play-offs DESPITE Orton.

But another way... as bad as Grossman has been, his career rating is still far better than Orton's.

NFL Stats: by Player Category

Orton is like Grossman.. only without the occasional great game tossed in. When he was finally benched, it was only after he failed to top so much as 70 in his last 6 games.

I think thier main focus should be rebuilding that Offensive Line, if you give Grossman a little more time in the pocket I think you'll see a huge improvement, and much more consistency.

See, it's times like these where Tampa cashes in. With every QB they've signed, they could make an offer to the Bears, and I'm sure they'd take it.

Well it does`nt matter anymore. Niether of them have anyone to throw to they gave both starting recievers away to free agentcy.
