Do you preface every post with "a Cowboys fan would say"? What an annoying habit.

I live in Cleveland and watch every Browns game, read the local sports page every day, and though I'd throw in some info on the Anderson-Quinn situation. I don't care what the Vikings do. I'm not worried at all because there is no way the Vikings get Anderson unless they make a Herschel Walker type offer for him.

Mean bastard. There you go, crushing my hopes.

I could get him on Madden for a 3rd rounder, so there.

In all reality, barring a second half collapse, Anderson has cemented himself as the starter (which makes Quinn's hold out look even that much worse for him). Quinn now has to fight his way up the depth chart, he won't be handed anything. It might not even be Anderson that ends up traded, it could be Quinn. My guess is that the Browns carry both of them for all of next season and look to resolve the situation after the 2008 season (where they will likely be able to recoup their 1st round pick.)

For the Vikes, they are going to have serious QB issues next year no matter who the coach is. If Childress is here, then it will be Jackson under center. If Childress is fired, then McNabb has no reason to come here (and seems like Chicago makes more sense anyway) and that leaves us looking at some less-than-impressive options.

Actually no I don't. Just that one that you happen to read.

Vikings: Detmer was a costly insurance policy

Quote:
Because of several quirks in the NFL's Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), Detmer will receive more than $90,000 for practicing three days with the team. He was released last Saturday when the Vikings determined that quarterbacks Tarvaris Jackson and Kelly Holcomb were healthy enough to back up starter Brooks Bollinger last Sunday against Green Bay.

Where did you get that Crystal Ball?

Rumors are that the Vikes offered a 3rd round pick for Sage... Texans countered by asking for a 2nd.
