Farve sets another record

Congrats on setting the all-time INTERCEPTIONS record last night, Brett.
You helped lose your team another game.

I'm still suprised they were so quick to call it an INT considering they both came down with the ball almost equally and the defender was on top of Driver and both had their arms wrapped around the ball. I would have thought it would have atleast been sent to the booth to be reviewed since it was under 2mins.

defender had it before Driver did. The defender had it in his hands before Driver could reach in.

It's pretty meaningless. It speaks more to his longevity than anything else. When you look at his INTs per pass, he's much better than the guy he passed.

Go to all time stats for any sport, and you'll be surprised by the names on the lists for bad thing.

NHL:
Most goals allowed: Grant Fuhr
Most playoff goals allowed: Patrick Roy
Most playoff losses: Patrick Roy

MLB:
Most pitching losses: Cy Young
Most wild pitches: Nolan Ryan
Most walks: Nolan Ryan

NFL:
Most fumbles: Warren Moon
Most times sacked: John Elway

And in case you didn't know, all of those guys are Hall of Famers.

I think Babe Ruth still leads the all-time strikeout record too, or did for a long time. And Michael Jordan leads in missed shots, or did for several years.
Anyways, you hear the media hoopla over the TD's, a fair report would be to also mention the INT record......
I do think Farve is top 10 all-time, somewhere between 7-9 on my list. because a player plays in a lot of games doesnt mean he is the best, it means he is durable. In all his durability he has managed 1 SuperBowl win, so there isnt much correlation between durability and success.
I'd take a guy like Aikman or Jim Kelly , even Dan Fouts, anyday.

That's why you need to consider career passer rating as a big attribute. The most INT's looks bad, but it's not necessarily as bad as you think if Farve has a lot more TD's.

Green Bay Packers look at the teams he played on

brett favre had marginal teams for a long time.

he had sharpe for all of 3 or 4 yrs, white for maybe 5, a terrible Oline throughout the 90's, and bennett/levens were a product of the west coast system. ahman is the best of any rb's he got to play with.

he made freeman and brooks all pro's, because u saw what they did when they left. nothing. same w/ dorsey, he was a backup. when they finally got a decent line and some talented skill players, walker got hurt and wanted out, ahman couldn't stay healthy, and their D was so so at best. they gave up a lotta points.

guys like montana kelly and aikman had gr8 teams to compliment them. montana had arguably the most talented, no not arguably, THE most talented teams in the 80's. aikman had 2 all-time gr8 skill pos. players, one of the best tackles in history. kelly never won a SB and had thurman, reid, beebe, and a D that includes 9/10 of bruce smith's career with many other good defenders.

what i think sets him apart is the way he moves in the pocket. payton is the only other QB i've seen move in the pocket as well as favre, and he doesn't make people miss like brett. his ball fakes, under hand shovel's, and improvisation are superior to anyone to play the game. taken into consideration with production, playoff apps., div. champs. and the ability to show up to work every day 4 all these years makes him the best ever.

good argument for him, but i'll just be labled a homer.

Green Bay Packers

HEY WIZARD!!!

1) Favre broke the NFL record for INT's, but Blanda (who held the record) threw 277 INTS in 4007 career attempts. This is 1 INT per 14.46 attempts. Favre has 279 INTs in 8300 careet attempts. This is 1 INT per 29.74 attempts. Dont you think this is kind of a skewed statisitc?

2) Since 1950, Detroit Lions QBS have had approx 37 300 yard passing games. Since 1993, Favre has had approx 48 300 yard passing games.

3) Since 1993, Detroit is 89-135. GB under Favre is 139-85.

4) Packers have been to 2 Super Bowls. Detroit has NEVER been!!!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NFL "WIZARD", dont knock HOF players when your franchise hasnt even been close to the same level as the Packers since their start, let alone the the last 16-17 years.

As if you didnt know, we are 5-1 and you are 3-2. But the Bears and Vikings have always been bigger rivals, so we hardly pay attention to you.
