I think he'll improve being on the team with the best defense in the league.

Archuleta is a good, albeit limited, player. He is a poor man's John Lynch. Decent in the box against the run, heavy hitter, but poor in coverage. Unlike Lynch though, he is a suspect tackler. Archuleta always seems to go for the human torpedo slobber-knocker hit, which causes him to miss a lot of tackles. That makes him kinda limited in just what he can do for a team.
But one of those places is sitting as a safety in the cover-2, ala the Bears. Being back in zone helps hide his coverage liabilities and his speed (or what is left of it) lets him cover decent ground. Still will blow tackles, but that is why he was up for grabs. |

i agree with shakin 85. he doesnt have to be "the man" with that DEF scheme. He can play a lot more freely and make plays. Only concern is if he can stay on the field.

Being signed by the Skins is a pretty good indicator your career is about to tank.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. In Lovie's system, a player with limited ability like Archuluta has help in his areas of weakness. He is great in run support but has trouble in coverage. The other DB's on Defense will more then help for his lack of cover skills. Great FA Signing. Archuluta, Manning and Mike Brown....wow
