Benson or Jones starting in Chicago?

Who you think will get the starting nod? Seems like a real toss up currently

I agree. Too bad I have a lot of confidence in Jones for this upcoming year, the guy is a maniac in the gym. Benson needs to be put out to stud though.

That is a 90 percent lock. He (Benson) was supposed to be last year but Jones didn't care that he was injured and the Bears were literally forced to use him as he was producing every week.

I have to say (and I hope Benson).

It would seem to me that Benson would give the bears more options.

If they split the season, it'll be interesting to see how each handles the starting position.

I just hope this isn't an omen of another season of injuries for the Bears.

I think Jones will get the nod to start it out, but Benson could overtake his spot I suppose.

It is going to be interesting to see this unfold. Every source I read says he could be the next Larry Johnson, I want to see what this kid has to offer. The Bears were trying to find any excuse last year to get him in, Jones just didn't give them much of a choice.

Ya know.....the article in the daily herald over the summer really pissed me off. They made Jones out to be this complete jerk that doesn't give a crap about the team and Benson out to be this selfless member of the Bears. Do we not remember how Benson HELD OUT like a piece of crap last year and missed the off season? So much for a team player....it's called a paycheck. Jones is the better back and he is (most importantly) HEALTHY right now. So sit down benson...Jones is starting and gettin a majority of the playing time. Don't ever HOLD OUT on the bears....ridiculous.

Yea i must say that when i heard the Bears announce Cedric Benson 4th overall i was pretty excited but when all that Holding Out **** started it made me look down on him....however after watchin so far this year i have noticed a spark in him that Jones may lack....Jones to me is a north and south runner which is good cuz thats the point of a running back * my arguement when the O-line is not run-blocking like last year Jones' style of hitting the line at top speed can be a disadvantage..Benson however seems to have more patience and Balance..(Jones seems to drop like a sack of potatoes at first contact) when Zone blocking you have to BE PATIENT and choose your hole Benson is a better side to side back than Jones and he also will put his HEAD DOWN AND FINISH A RUN* So i see why Jones starts but Cedric will eventually be a better fit......note*i would like to see more Adrian Peterson now that dude can finish a run put him on the goaline he will score!!

i agree. benson could be the next big thing at RB, they used a top 5 pick on him, and the fans want those type of players to play ASAP. BUT.....T Jones is a very good RB that is better right now. NFL teams now like to run 2-back systems, so expect them to run 2gether until a contract runs out or a major injury happens to 1 of them.

There is certainly an embarasssment of riches at this position for the Bears. I always wondered why Jones has not received any kudos for his consistently good performance. But, I have to admit that Benson's upside is much higher. Peterson/Benson as the future at that the position looks real good. I heard earlier this year that Benson has lost some respect from his teammates. Is that still the case?
