Extended Cowboys

The 'Boys extend Newman 6 years for and 50 mill and Barber 7 years for 45 mill. Both moves make my Cowboy pants go crazy!

They probably did overpay for Barber...but Newman is easily one of the best corners in the league...he's worth the money.

I think your right on that one. But they have to watch out, they cant just go give up money like that. Barber does`nt have the speed to be a top RB. He`s good for tough yards. But one of the reasons they locked up a deal like that is becase they drafted Felix Jones.

I think they overpaid for both, especially Barber, but this is the move of a desperate owner who will do anything to win a playoff game. As soon as he realizes that he is the biggest obstacle standing in the way, Dallas may play like they should in he playoffs, not like they do. I'm also not a huge Romo fan, who has proven that he can do nothing in the clutch, or in the clutches of some woman aparently.

Look around the league. Jones didn't overpay. That's the price of free agents now. What were his options? I guess he could let the guys walk, but that does nothing to help the Cowboys win.

You say this in every post about the Cowboys. Just goes to show that you haven't watched either of Romo's playoff games.

It's not necessarily a a bad signing on either ends, just one flaw with each, IMO.

I think Barbers contract was just the right length, but FAR, FAR too much money.

Terrence Newman's contract was good money for him considering how good he is, but he is no spring chicken and corners don't usually last till there 35 without dropping off in production.

So, could be great, could be stupid, we will see in the next few years.
