Dallas Cowboys Gzus's Cowboys Wish List

This is my wish list as of Wednesday April 16th 2008 as to what the Cowboys should do, and I hope they do:
1. Trade for Chad Johnson, a proven big threat WR, who has an eccentric personality that will complement TO and contriubute to an explosive offense. Trade a 1st rounder for the guy, 28th pick. (Either Chad Johnson or Roy Williams for the 28th pick would be nice)
2. Trade for Lito Sheppard instead of Pacman Jones, give up a 2nd rounder and a 5th ot 6th rounder for him. (And even if we do this I wouldn't mind seeing Pacman Jones come on over for a cheap price as well)
3. Use the 22nd pick to pick up Felix Jones.

If these three things happen I would be the happiest boy alive. These three moves would fill 3 of the largest holes we have on our team and with picks to spare.

Yes, we would be cuttin git very close to say the least. Our cap situation right now would mess things up, but we could rework some contracts to get it done. If we were to pick up Chad Johnson, Terry Glenn would essentially be gone. If we were to get Pacman Jones, his salary would be minimal to say the least. The thing is if you trade one if not both your 1st rounders away for established players you're not throwing a lot of guaranteed money to those potential 1st rounders you may have drafted. A Felix Jones wouldn't cost us too much with the 28th or 22nd pick. Lito Sheppard could be signed to a long term deal lessening his cap hit, and we could rework Romo's contract to make it more cap friendly, as well as cutting Glenn once we get Ocho-Cinco.

First, I see Cincinnati wanting more than the 28th pick. Probably the first of the two picks and maybe something in the later rounds.

I just can't see TO and Chad on the same team. Chad wants to be the guy and had made that point clear. I don't see how playing along side TO makes him "the guy".

Between Lito Sheppard and Chad Johnson, their contracts alone would be more than what Romo would be willing to cut and releasing Glenn. Cap issues would become a huge problem.

Seeing the type of attitude Pacman has, he won't want to come in and play for basically nothing behind Newman and Sheppard. He believes he is a #1/#2 corner, which he might be. He is going to want more than what you expect.

Not saying that its completely impossible but it seems extremely far fetched. Too many things would have to fall into place for something like this to happen. I could see a couple of the "wishes" happening, however

Chad has said on national television that he wanted to be trade to Dallas. He has also said how much he idolizes T.O. so I don't see them having issues if they do end up together. Chad has said that he wants to play for a contender, which the Cowboys are. As to Pacman Jones, I don't really want the guy, but if we can't get Lito Sheppard and need to pick up a DB for cheap he's our option. If I had to choose just one of these to happen I would have to go with Chad Johnson. I just like the attitude the guy brings to the field, you know he's gonna leave it all on the field, and when he scores he makes it entertaining. If I could have anything I would want two flashy recievers that people percieve to be trouble makers, yet are two of the best in the biz, and create explosive plays.

He's also going to leave it all on his QB if the ball doesn't go his way often enough.

He freaked out when Palmer started throwing to TJ more in Cinci. How do you think he'd react being the 3rd fiddle in Dallas behind TO and Witten?

I hope you get just what you wish for... Just like the Eagles fans did...

1. Pacman has the mentality that he's a #1 corner, which I believe he is (check the 06 numbers). He's also a return threat, so I don't think he'll like being the back up to any CB at this point.
2. Ocho Cinco would love to be on Dallas....but once the ball goes to TO more, he will get fussy. That and it will be a media circus, have fun.
3. I like the Felix Jones pick. Marion Barber 3 and Felix Jones could be dangerous.

Pacman can't really pick and choose who he plays behind, not many teams willing to take him anymore. Ocho Cinco will keep his trap shut as long as he's winning games, which won't happen often enough in Cincinnati.
