Joe Gibbs Resigns

Breaking News on Fan590 and through the Associated Press. Not overly shocked, despite the late season surge, he struggled early. Will be interesting to say who comes in and takes over. They need a guy who's willing to take names and kick ass.

Gregg Williams has it in his contract that if he is not Gibbs replacement Danny Boy has to shell out like 2 mill to him. Personally I like this, both coordinators are qualified and will probably take HC jobs elsewhere if not offered this one, which will dilute the field a little more and hopefully keep the Cowboy's offensive staff in place...

My exact thoughts when I heard Williams was a main candidate. Who cares if it's not Garrett!!!

Yea not surprised, Gibbs was worn thin and the game has been good to him ... His time has passed.

Ditto, I'm not surprised the guy has been worn out, and it's a young man's game now. Too grueling for an old coach like Gibbs.

They just spoke about that on comcast (1 mil.) but they said that was a rumor flying around about it and not true

Man I think it might be true... I kind of remember him doing it a few years ago when Williams was being coveted as a head coach. He gave him a fat raise and put it in his contract that he'd succeed Gibbs, I could be wrong I am pretty sure it was a topic shortly after Gibbs came back.
