Glenn is gone next year....have a funny feeling (about the obvious lol), Austin? Not sure he'll be much more than a return guy and Stanback is a project...I heard someone saying he was getting some reps at cornerback...the guy is all over the map lol.

I think it'll boil down to Owens, Crayton & Hurd and I'm fairly certain Owens will be gone after the following year. It's gonna develope into one....would be nice if they brought in some better talent to develope and learn from Owens for a year.

Glenn - old and probably going to have to retire after this year.
Crayton - decent enough
Hurd - By all accounts, he's made real progress.
Austin - Wake me up when he catches a pass in a real game.
Stanback - We don't even know if he can play the position.

I really think Hurd has a good shot at being a number 1 or number 2, but right now he still needs to make some progress, learning from T.O. is a good start. Crayton is solid, Glenn will more than likely retire after this season with his whole knee issue. Austin looks like he's only good for special teams, tho right now not really with the broken coverages. Stanback looked promising in the preseason when he caught that one ball in the endzone, but nothing much after that. We need WR and CB, CBs are obvious as of late.

I am not convienced we are as weak at WR as we our in the secondary. Drafting 2 CBs is ridiculas, at least 2 in the first round is ridiculas. Newman is still probably top 5 in the league why would we draft 2 CBs in the first round? T.O. stil has at least 3 season left in him and if you take a WR with #1 get ready for the headache. Not to mention Crayton is a solid #2 and you don't draft a guy in the 1st round to be your number 3 WR... unless you are the Detroit lions.

I still say CB and SS

If we draft a SS and keep Hamlin, what do we do with Roy? Convert him to LB? Or do what I said let him roam? We could call his position the Terminator. "RB acquired.....(WHACK) Terminated!"

He played FS next to Woody his rookie year and that was his best year in the NFL. He can play FS and Hamlin can either be cut or traded.

I like Hamlin, he's not doing too badly this season (already 2 picks).

1 a) Mike Hart

1 b) Reggie Smith
Mike Hart's idol growing up was none other than Emmitt Smith. No joke. Ever since he was little.

That said, I wouldn't draft him in the first round. He just doesn't do any one thing at an outstanding level, and he lacks some size. He doesn't have explosive speed, he's not ridiculously quick or powerful. He'll be an all-around back, I think.

He'll make it in the NFL, but I don't know if he'll make it as a starter. He could, but it's no guarantee. He's not a can't-miss guy like McFadden.

Your right, he's not playing bad... I am just saying this D would be the best in the league with another cover corner and a true SS. The offense is already a jugarnunt. The only whole we really have is the secondary and it we aren't going to get our RB with our first pick I'd be really happy with a sured up secondary.

I'm saying I would take two CBs in the first round before I even thought about taking a safety. I wouldn't draft at a position that I have pretty good talent at and depth....over positions of needs (CB & RB maybe even WR if someone falls that they just can't pass up).

They won't draft a SS with Roy under that big contract. And I really don't want this team to spend both first rounders on defense. At some point, they need to inject some first round talent into the offense.

I don't see them using both picks on the defense, maybe they will use one for offense and one for defense. I think we have invested enough in the defense and unless there is truly a Jamal Williams type of DT out there or another Newman-like CB out there than I hope we do not draft defense with both first rounders.

'

I haved never said to draft a saftey and cut Roy... I am saying draft a saftey that can play coverage because we don't have on. And I was wrong, Roy played SS and Woody played FS. There is NO WAY you draft 2 CBs in the first round with a guy like Newman on your team. Maybe if we take 1 CB we can move Henry to FS, but he is getting old. We need a Saftey that can cover as much as we need anything on this team. Your blind of you don't see that, but I am sure it will be a hot topic after this Sunday.

1. Cover Corner
2. Cover Saftey
3. RB
4. WR
5. DT
