You rarely see NFL O/Us get above 55... it happens every now again but not very often.

New England's good, but I just don't see them scoring 54 points against Dallas.

So you're assuming Dallas will score 0?

Just being snide.

Anyway, as a Giant fan I'd like to see New England win. On the other hand, I'd like to see all those NFC bashers eat some crow.

I'd think a Giants fan would be pretty torn... if DC wins, it makes the Giants loss look more impressive and would help them alot - on the other hand, if DC loses, then the Giants are only 1 game back with a long season ahead including a rematch in G-ville.... I can understand

The other problem for the Pats is that their LB's suck in coverage. All the picks they have (as LBs) have come off tipped balls by DB's (see the Seau endzone pick) where Seau was burned and a DB got his hand in at the last second. Unless, and even if, they put 2 LB's on Witten at all times, it'll be hard for them to cover him. That also means they're giving single coverage to TO and Crayton and possibly even forgetting about Hurd and Barbarian... This is a great matchup for both teams b/c both offenses are so jampacked with talent. If we double Moss, we leave Stall/Watson/Etc open...

Either way, I stand by my prediction of it being one of the highest scoring games in NFL history.
He sure looked like his first read against the Bills because he was forcing it in there like no other. I think it was 3 passes intended for Witten that were picked off including that 4th quarter change of possession right after Newman got ran down by Lee Evans … but I could be wrong.

The first pick was a zone read by Romo that said the middle would be open (and was) but Witten broke off the route which led to the pick - it wasn't Romo looking for Witten 1st, it was him reading the defense exceptionally well and knowing where to throw it... with time him and Witten will be on the same page 99% of time time and that's a 20+yd gain.

The second pick, IIRC, was again a zone read by Romo, this time he was slow on the trigger though and the LBer was able to jump the route. It was a good read by Romo but poor execution. He saw TO was doubled and that Crayton had an over under leaving Witten open on the out route - problem was he waited till after Witten cut and once he did that, the LB knew what was coming... if Romo releases that 2 seconds earlier, the ball gets there right as Witten turns and the LBer gets burned...

The third pick that you're referencing was actually a check down - TO, Crayton, Witten - and a piss poor read of the defense. He got Tunnel vision and saw Witten ahead of one defender, but missed the 2nd defender coming the opposite way that cut in front and got the INT - he also missed the 3rd DB behind Witten that would have creamed him had he caught it (and I think he did anyway...)

Basically - to sum it up - Romo doesn't start his check down at Witten, but if he does a Favre/Brady/Peyton move and gets a great read on the D before the snap, he's going to pick apart the defense and go exactly where he wants to, whether that's Barber, TO or Crayton - a great example is the 4th and short conversion against Miami - he never took his eyes off of TO and knew the entire time where he was going - same thing on the 2pt conversion against Buffalo.

Jay is right... and Romo does this a lot. And if you go back and watch the last 4 games of last season you'll see him doing it there too. He'll pick a guy and stare him down... but we have to remember he isn't a seasoned Vet or even have a full season under his belt. He'll get better with experience, but I can't argue with Jay on this one and if he tries to do it against a very seasoned Pat defense they will eat him alive.

I like the fact that T.O has had two sub-par games in a row... he will come correct on Sunday and that should free up Crayton, Witten and the running game. I know I have said it several times in the last week, but to me a Dallas win depends on our ability to keep the score low and control the tempo and clock with a solid running game. I don't think we can win a shoot out with this Patriot team.

The Cowboys have 0 chance against the Patriots so it's not even worth pondering. Turn the ball over 6 times against the Pats and you can head to the showers early. Frankly I just can't see ANY team beating the Pats if they are focused and they should be it being a big game and all. By the way i'll be rooting for the Patriots anyway!

Same here. I really don't get the NFC bashers. The AFC had three good teams, some average ones, and a whole lot of garbage. Maybe some others will start playing solid football, but right now, there is very little difference between the conferences.

The Patriots are going to lose games. They will not go 16-0. In this NFL, I wouldn't ever make absolute statements like you just did.

Your D has yet to go up against a O like the Pats and your guys are ranked
8th some how and your O is number one against a team with no D.

This game is a blow out the pats well kill you guys ,you guys are heavily overrated/
