I'm not calling anyone here an idiot unless they feel like he can't tackle at all....if they do then I'll take a vacation from the site for stating the obvious. I'm talking in general...people saying he can't tackle AT ALL (unless he uses the horsecollar or gets lucky and someone trips over him.). Someone said he isn't a good form tackler....not that he can't tackle.

I've seen Roy lay out his own teammates plenty of times....but who the hell would blame the guy that got laid out for missing the tackle?

You’re missing the point; no one here is an idiot for stating their opinion. It’s fine if you disagree with it but don’t resort to name calling in the process. Argue your stance but please refrain from turning it into a personal attack, that’s all.

This is Roy's hot-button thats for sure. I think Roy sux... in this defense. I have never argued that he isn't a special player and can be a playmaker, but when it comes to playing coverage he sux. The thing that should bother RW318 is that over the last couple of seasons Roy's tackling is begining to look more and more like his coverage. A SS should be able to cover a TE, Cooley is no sloutch, but he is no Witten either. Most defenses use a LB to cover him, Roy can't do it as a saftey.

It's funny to me when people talk about Roys tackling....because then they turn around and compliment Hamlin on everything. I've seen Hamlin miss so many tackles this year it's not even funny. Roy is EASILY one of the better tacklers on the team. So I guess the team is full of ass clowns who can't tackle....oh well. Roy is an average SS as far as coverage. Look around the league at other SS....he's not bad he's freaking average. He's far above average in run support...and he's above average in tackling. Of course if he misses a tackle the world is gonna end and he's to old and fat to play safety...get real.

If someone here is stating that the sun doesn't exist they're an idiot. I can't help but call them one either.....unless I know something is wrong with them.

One question for you... in what year did Roy miss his first start and why? Maybe the Cowboy's coaches are a bunch of ass clowns too then because they obviously don't know what they are doing. 13-3, division title, homefield advantage. Roy sat his HEALTHY ASS on the bench because of his big bag of suck this year, tell me why he sat down if he is the best defensive player on this team. I didn't see a healthy Hamlin, Ware, Henry, Newman or James sitting on the bench, did you?

I mean Keith Freak'n Davis got a start in place of Williams please tell me why that happened... because I obviously don't remember why that went down.

You obviouslly think Jerry Jones is an idiot for resigning a player who can't tackle, can barely run & can't cover. You must also think the coaches are idiots because a player who can do nothing but breath is on the field 98% of the time. Explain to me why teams are converting third and longs on the Cowboys all day when Roy isn't on the field? Yeah lets go ahead and shut up. The Cowboys in general aren't good against the pass....if you think it's just one player find a shrink.....the problem is much deeper. It's funny seeing Cowboys fans trying to twist it on Roy though....even the haters gotta laugh at themselves.

Also who the **** said Roy is the best player on the defense....don't put those words in my damn mouth cause I sure as **** didn't say it.

Why was Roy ridding pine again... I couldn't make out an answer in all that?

Because he got suspended a game for tackling a player? I believe that is the correct answer.

If you're talking about passing situations....it's obviously because the coach thinks teams can convert third downs just as easily with Roy off the field the same as if he's on it. They're probably converting more third and longs this year with Roy off the field than they did last year with him on it.

He didn't start against Greenbay he wasn't suspended, he just sucks at covereage so they sat his arse down. He was only on the field for like 70% of the plays in that game. He missed the first start of his career while perfectly healthy because we were playing a pass oriented team... and you still deny he is sub-par at pass coverage.

They sat him....then they keep the same people on the field and Rodgers comes in and rapes them. Again what does that tell you? That even on the bench Roy can effect the teams coverage ability huh?

He's average at coverage....again...look around the league at all the SS

I think the fact that the Dallas Morning News had worked out why the Cowboys can't afford to cut Roy Williams should tell you a lot about his play. It is a story, and it is noticed. His cap hit is huge, and his play has declined over the past few seasons. He doesn't make as many big plays, and he gets noticed for missing out on other player far more frequently than he was a few seasons ago.

It's not that he sucks and is the worst guy in the league. It's that he is getting paid a lot more than he's worth at this point. In a salary cap league, that is a big deal. That's the very reason Julius Jones is going to be allowed to walk. He's going to get paid more than his production is worth.
