Who said he was?

One thing i've learned is Dallas fans hate on their own players more than other people hate on em.

I am. But Roy is the leader, the veteran, the highest paid, and the star. I hold him to a higher standard. I have greater expectations. Getting burned for a long TD at least once a game isn't acceptable to me. When it happens once, it is a mistake. When it happens repeatedly, it's a problem.
He can't make plays..every play. Like I said...if there's no jam...he's gonna have a hard time running with fast WRs already at full speed. Is he good in coverage? No....is he bad fo a SS? No.

Where in the blue hell did I overrate him? I don't recall talking about how good he is. I think we should stop assuming things.....

Come on man, just support your team despite the deficiencies, as a Cowboys fan you know what ur getting from Roy. You can't sit here an whine that he gives up big passing plays, because you know this is what he does and you whining doesn't fix that. You as a fan can never fix it, but you can watch go "oh sh*t" every now and then, and then enjoy Romo burning the opposing defense. Seriously man just up-shut with the whining and just enjoy the ride, or are you one of those fans who likes to cover his buttocks with these early rants in order to say "see i told ya earlier, i wasn't fully on the band wagon." IN OR OUT choose; if you stay just keep your mouth shut, else get off and stay off because you can't have one foot in and one foot out.
It's a fair critique of a flawed player. It's what we as fans do, dissect the games and the players and determine who played well and who didn't, when it comes to Williams the fact he's weak in coverage is a fair observation and one that'll always be brought up when discussing his merits as a player.

To add:

We are supporting our team even more critiquing our team. We want the team to improve, so we point out things that could be improved.

Just in general:

What in the blue hell makes players on your team immune to criticism? If you REALLY care about your team, you want your players to be as good as possible. Pointing out and correcting their faults is all part of that.

Ignoring the faults of your own players is very homer-ish, IMO.

Again who said that? Do you expect everyone to take the smash em crash em approach? If you know anything about football...expecting your players to be the best they can every play is slightly unrealistic. Yeah...If you're a coach of the team.

Pointing them out every game isn't that good of a fan IMO.

Well, expecting your SS to know how to pass cover must be unrealistic too, huh?

He does "know" how....he's just not exactly good at it. Doesn't judge the ball in the air very well and that's the only thing hurting him.

As a non-biased party in this, I expect safety's to be able to judge a pass. They are the safety's and they usually play deep for a reason, if a coverage is either missed by a CB or a WR comes through their zone, they should be able to cover it. If it's good plays on the WR part, that's fine. If the Safety messes up and blows the coverage by a long shot on a ball he should have gotten, that's horrible. Roy Williams is a good Safety, needs to work on coverage though.

I think a FS is supposed to be able to do it better. Regardless yes a SS safety should be decent against the pass....and I think Williams is decent...not good...and not bad.

Here's a good idea from Bob Sturm: take Roy Williams off the field in obvious passing downs like 3rd and long. He put this to some of his NFL scout contacts, and they agreed that the Cowboys should do this to improve their downfield pass coverage.

BobSturmShow: Roy, Get Off the Field

. . . .
So, when I am in Nickel, I want my 3 best CBs, along with Ken Hamlin and Patrick Watkins both covering half of the field deep.

And I want Roy Williams when he can not be exposed anymore…On the sideline.
