Drew Bledsoe is totally immoble and turnover prone, I can't see him leading them very far. They could be a wild card contender but I'm not thinking much more for them. The Redskins baffled everybody by bringing in some recievers to improve their offense, well guess what the QB is still Mark Brunell. I'm not sure why Gibbs is so in love with him. I'm keeping my eye on Philly, they could bounce back if Westbrook stays healthy. But I'm favoring the Giants at this point.
Thats what i'm sayin man. I've said it in a few other threads, i think the G Men have what it takes to win it all.

Honestly, this is the year we're going to see Donovan start to scramble again. This is the year he is finally going to develope into a true leader, as opossed to the "by example" guy that he's been his whole career. The Eagles are not only the class of the NFC East, but the class of the NFC in general. Twill be a good year for the birds.
Yeah--what that guy said!!!!!!!

I disagree on the basis of the Eagles' defense. If they made a number of key additions to their defense, this may be an incorrect assertion and I'm sorry. However, they were in the bottom third in total defense last season (23rd): giving up 325.4 yards per game, ranking 21st against the run and 21st against the pass. That's nothing to be terribly proud of; and in a division where the Giants, Redskins, and even the Cowboys possess potent offense, the Eagles defense is a cause of concern regardless of how well Donovan McNabb does.

Furthermore, other than Brian Westbrook, what other options does McNabb have? Of course he needs to play like Michael Vick in Madden 2004; Philadelphia ranked in between Green Bay and New Orleans in total offense last season (19th).

I think the division will be tough for any team to win and it's quite obvious who I want to win it; but I don't see it being the Philadelphia Eagles this season.

(Note: I also apologize if I get the rankings off, I counted from NFL.com's non-numbered stats pages)

New Orleans is still a year away from making big moves IMO, that leaves three good teams as opposed to four in the east (Philly will be back).
First of all, I don't think its statistically possible for all four teams in the division to be well over .500. And even if it is, the NFC doesnt suck that bad. The East has to play the South, so every one of those teams have to play Tampa, Atlanta, Carolina and New Orleans, not exactly gimmies.

The East might be tougher since every team has got plenty going for them, but I think the South is more top-heavy. I see Carolina and Tampa as being more likely to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl than anyone in the East. In the end, I think it will be just like last year, with the South and the East each sending two good teams to the playoffs.

My thoughts exactly.

Is it really possible for all 4 teams to be above .500?

Absolutely, and I would not be surprised if the WC's both came out of the NFC East this year either. All four teams in that division are going to have one hell of a time with each other, and it'll probably carry over into the playoffs.

The Eagles defense is significantly improved over last year's. FIrst of all, no injuries this year. This means that the All-pro secondary is back and ready to reek some havock in the NFC East. The D-Line is improved with the drafting of Brodrick Bunkley, and they also signed a few less notable guys to fill in the holes. The thing with Jim Johnson's system is, he doesn't need big name guys. Everyone is a product of the system, and this nickel sceme that hes running this year has looked good in both preeason games. The Eagles defense is genarally good every season, and it's ceretainly improved over 2005.

As for Westbrook...did you guys see him in that hall of fame game last week? He honestly looked as good as I've ever seen him. It was like watching him from 3 years ago - lightining quickness and a complete lack of aprehension when it comes to "Busting through" the hole. He's gonna have a great year. And as far as receivers go, watch one guy this year: HANK BASKET. He is going to have a huge year for the Eagles as well. He has quickly become McNabb's favorite target, and as long as he doesn't drop the ball, McNabbs going to keep going to him several times per game.

Here's another thing with regards to the NFC East...Philadelphia will beat Dallas twice. There is no chance that they lose to a Dallas team with T.O. I may change my mind down the line, but right now that's my thought and I'm sticking with it. Oh, and T.O., Brian Dawkins is comin to get you baby! You think the fans cheered when the Eagles ended Michael Irvin's career, just wait until T.O.'s laying on the turf.

I'm quite pessmistic as a Cowboys fan. I just dont like the makeup of the O-Line and what that can spell for the offence. A poor line makes for a QB on his back a lot, which leads to an angry T.O. It doesnt help that Jones seems to be quite brittle as well. It should be close, but I wouldnt be shocked if the Boys ended up with a poor record given they have to play so many in division games against 3 VERY good teams

Book nothing on the eagles.McNabb is pretty good, but is dreadful without receivers. On there roster they have no receivers that had more than 600 receiving yards. Also, there HB Westbrook, will get hurt and have less than 500 yards rushing.
I predict that the Panthers will go all the way.
They have delhomme,foster/davis,johnson,and smitty
We made it all the way to the finals last year without 2 good receivers, and now we have 2.

I think Dallas is the weakest team in the division easily.

My hate for Bledsoe is endless, and biases aside, he can't take them where they need to go.
