ST sucks. they better figure that one out, and fast.

for me, i just traded for hester in year two of my madden 08 franchise..

..get theis.. all it took was a 1st(30overall) and greg lewis
Gotta love Madden for being able to make your own moves. What constantly bothers me in Franchise mode is that every year after I win the Super Bowl Madden simulates the Eagles picking up a free agent WR that is always better than the guy they bring in real life.
I hear on the grapevine that they brought back MR. Reno "Fair Catch" Mahe himself. Now if this is the case and J.R. Reed stays then that means there won't be room to add Koy Detmer if Sav can't get a hold of the holds. The extra point and FGs went through this past game so...so far so good there.

O WOW, the Iggles fall to 0-2. Not a good start, I thought they were supposed to be the best team in the NFC East?

ill tell you like I've told other people here on this very board before, things change very quickly in the NFL. look at the saints too. losing to 2 teams that were under .500 last year isn't expected, but if everything happened as expected in football then last years run with Garcia which took us further in the playoffs than any other NFC East team would have went differently.

not to say we cant bounce back now, cause we've proved we can come back from bad starts in other recent seasons. those of you quick to jump on the Eagles now should be aware of that already, I'm sure.

I'm glad you brought up Garcia because I believed a large part of his success was a result of a balanced, straight up 50/50 run/pass offense. Last week in Green Bay was about 45/55. Last night was 31/69 AGAIN. How do you justify throwing the ball 70% of the time without having a true #1 WR on the roster? More than anything, even with a true #1, throwing the ball that often it is a formula for failure in the 4th quarter by the defense. I agree that this team could bounce back to another 10-6 season with some lucky bounces, but the bottom line is this Eagles team won't be winning anything by throwing the ball that much. Sure we might catch a handful of really bad secondaries on their heels but that won't do anything for us in the playoffs and now down 0-2, the playoff picture is dwindling to a thumbnail. This has been my knock on Reid for awhile now, the 3 headed monster worked so well, throwing the ball early and often works when you have a quality WR that allows the other guys to get open. I thought that Westbrook was gashing the redskins defense in the first half. If you don't want to overwork him, then hand it off to Buckhalter or Hunt, but there was no reason to "get away from the run" when it worked so well the week before in a situation down ten points against a solid run defense. It seems like I've had the same 3 concerns the past 3 seasons:
1. Letting more talent get away than acquired in FA.
2. Special Teams ( At least Sav's leg looked good last night )
3. Play Calling ( Stay balanced before Mcnabb gets injured )

The fact that they run a 50/50 balanced offense when a substitute is under center and not for Mcnabb even though he is obviously not 100% has to be the most frustrating thing for me out of all of this. The play action only works when we are running. If The coaches don't plan on tanking the rest of this season for draft picks then they better have the players practice running the ball early, often, and all game long.

Any word on how bad Brian Dawkins injury is yet? I hope he will be OK.

The way the O-line is playing right now, McNabb will get injured before the Eagles get half way through the season. None of their WRs are getting any separation, as a result McNabb sits in the pocket and is getting whacked. Not a good start for what was projected to be one of the top teams in the NFC.

Thanks for the injury update. I hope these guys make it back to full health. James makes me nervous even though he got that 1st quarter INT. 4th quarter is suspect.
I think it is time to break out Tony Hunt with a handful of touches, expand Buckhalters from 5 to 10 and let Westbrook minimize contact until he is back to 100%.

Eagles fans better hope for the best on the injury front and when it comes to the Lions on Sunday because ya'll could very possibly be looking at 0-3 with a possibility of Kolb if things get really really bad.

hell, maybe thats what the team needs to kick it into gear!

weve started off bad before and come back, so im not hiting the little red button yet, but, some of these injuries are troublesome.

We have started sluggish before, usually do. But there is something about these guys right now on offense, they just look unmotivated, still in preseason or not buying into the system anymore. I'm waiting to see if the coaches can get these guys to play football against another 2-0 team in the Lions before I hit the panic button. But I have hit the FO is cheap button.
Now the Lions are 21st in pass defense and 14th in rush defense so I'm under the impression that we have another game of unbalanced passing offense ahead and with the injuries to the defense that probably won't cut it. We'll see. Westbrook is going to play, and his success on the ground is the only shot at defensive help which we will need. The DL needs to finish plays, not just get pressure but continue to get hands up in the passing lanes and generate the sacks. I'm hoping that Martz pass happy offense will leave a couple hanging in the air to get picked off, but again, if this defense doesn't stay fresh the turnovers may not be enough to bail the team out if there are holes in the 4th quarter.
If we see Kevin Kolb it means we are racing the Giants for draft picks, and I really don't want to see Kolb.
