Tonight is a big test. I really want to see how the first team offense will fair against a seasoned AFC 3-4 defense. Should be interesting to see how long it takes to get into an offensive rhythm, especially without LJ on the field. If they move the ball as well as they did against Carolina watch out, but I'd expect it to be somewhere between Aj vs the Ravens and #5 against a Julius Pepper-less defense.

Really surprised neither Gaddis or Barksdale made the team. Otherwise I might have said that this past draft would easily go down as a top 3 in the Reid era.
I thought Jason Davis had a real shot to get the FB job, but I guess nor he or Tapeh are the full time pass/run blocking back the Eagles have been missing since Jon Ritchie. I'm happy Sav Rocca got the punting job, but I wouldn't be upset if they brought back Koy Detmer for the holds. Eagles signed Kimo von Oelhoffen who was released from the Jets. In fact, I wanted them to bring this guy in when they got rid of Hollis Thomas. Solid depth veteran with consistent play and may even prove to be better in the short term than Ian Scott who will not play this season. Now my question areas are in the return game, not that I thought Bloom would be explosive but I definitely have my doubts about Greg Lewis as a returner. Hopefully J.R. Reed will be able to be explosive in the return game. Also, I can assume that since the Eagles brought in a DT I can forget about them signing Donovan Darius. Sorry, but I think a banged up Double D is likely to be better than Sean Considine. Michael Lewis gave up some big pass plays, but we are going to miss his laying the wood to receivers across the middle of the field. For whatever reason Mikell never gets the nod to start, so I have to believe Darius would have been a solid pick up even if only for depth. Instead they brought back J.R. Reed off waivers, which after seeing his one handed INT in the giants preseason game, doesn't seem like a bad move at all. I doubt that he'll get the nod over Considine who I'm hoping won't be a liability.

I really hate being right. Not that J.R. Reed did any better, but Greg Lewis should be no where near the football in the return game.
I do understand why Trotter wasn't the starter though. Without the Special Teams being truly special Green Bay's offense only scored 6 points.

They looked very very sloppy against a pretty solid Green Bay defense. Not a bad loss, but Eagles need to fix their ST or they will be in some trouble. And whoever thought ST doesn't make a big difference in a game, just re-watch that game.

I wanted to see a little bit more out of the offense but I saw a serious attempt to run the ball from Andy Reid and I was happy to see that. He has to work the kinks out but he is doing something I never thought I would see again and thats run a balanced offense with Mcnabb under center. I'm pretty optimistic about the team minus special teams. Also, the injuries are already working its way through out the division and that will probably keep things interesting. I'm expecting a dog fight and some close games with the first divisional test being next week which will show a lot. Hopefully we head into the bye week 3-1.

a run-balanced offense, and the timely, but concise switches to the pass oriented style every once in a while to keep teams guessing. its gonna be a big one next week to get back to .500 ST sucks. they better figure that one out, and fast. for me, i just traded for hester in year two of my madden 08 franchise.. ..get theis.. all it took was a 1st(30overall) and greg lewis ![]()
