Washington Redskins 75 Years

Here's a video a guy I know off a Redskins forum made (Torresa). The video is titled 75 Years and it pretty much shows the progression of the Washington Redskins over the 75 years.

Yea sure did, not much from old old, but at least 2:

Cliff Battles #20 = 1932-1937

Sammy Baugh #33 = 1937-1952

75 years wow, they have got to be one of the oldest teams in the nfl...this is as good of a place as any, but does anybody know a good place to read about the "origins of the NFL" and a breif summary of each expansion? I know a lot of hockey history but nilch about football, i always enjoy finding the roots of all sports.

Yeah, we are one of the oldest, I believe the Bears might be the oldest, but I'm not 100% sure.

My grandmother does a lot of searching of old stuff, from when her family originated here, and stuff like that.

She also told me her grand father, my great great grandfather, played for what is now todays Vikings, he was a Running Back, but this would have been way before the actual teams were combined. I believe she said back then, they had little small teams, which the would combine into bigger teams.

I am a little rusty on this, but the Bears, Lions, Packers, Cardinals, are a few of the orgiinal franchises. I believe the league formed in 1920 or 1921. Before there was a professional league football was played at atheltic associations. I believe there were a total of 8 original franchises. It's a very interesting subject to go back and research, I did all this about 5 years ago, I just didnt do a good job of retaining it.
