Former 'Skins LB Mitchell dies in sleep at 36

New Orleans Saints, National Football League, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins - CBS SportsLine.com

Weird. Dying in your sleep is the best way to go out tho.

RIP homie!

Age 36? That's a tragedy.

I don't know much about his career specifically, but these guys are all gladiators to me.

Washington Redskins

He was a blue collar guy in D.C.

Honestly, the only "play" I remember was him picking off a pass in the endzone against Baltimore right before halftime. the year the Ravens won it all. I believe the Skins won that game 10-3.

RIP Kevin.

The autopsy revealed that it was a massive heart attack.

Kevin Mitchell Charity Info

Sorry for the late post.
Friends of Mitchell's say they have heard that sleep apnea and hypertension are two possible reasons for the enlarged heart and massive heart attack he suffered in his sleep Sunday night/Monday morning. The death of the 36-year old LB has deeply saddened many at Redskins Park and he will not be forgotten.
The Harrisburg native has a fund in his honor set up for deserving kids in his home town.
Anyone who would like to can make a donation to:
The Kevin Mitchell Memorial Achievement Fund
PO Box 405
Hershey, PA 17033
The results of Monday's autopsy might not be know for a month or so.
