Could T.O. be gone next season?

I know that Jerry Jones has been saying all along that he wants to bring T.O. back next season, but could we see a T.O.-less WR corps next year. If we happen to draft a solid number one option in the draft in the first round could the Cowboys possible decide against the roster bonus of Owens and release him? I think it is possible b/c he is 5 million dollars of bonus right there and if you can get a great WR prospect out of the draft y keep him? If we do pick up a Dwayne Bowe or Dwayne Jarrett would we like them to play 3rd WR and bump Crayton to 4th or would we rather save us the headache of Owens and play Glenn(1), 1st rounder (2) and Crayton (3)? You save money and the possible disruption that Owens always is.

I don't have any doubts. It's possible to happen that T.O will be gone next season.

Hopefully, TO is a moron, all that is wrong with sports with how he conducts himself. He's just disrespectful and a leech.

Hopefully, although I don't know if Jones wants to go down that road yet.

No Jones has not yet paid Owens the roster bonus yet. I don't think he will exercise that until after the draft. If Jones can get a solid WR in the first round like Bowe, I don't see T.O. getting that 5 million. But no he has not paid Owens the bonus yet and has until about a week after the draft to do so.

I have always been under the impression that Jones is all about Owens and if he is indeed injury free IMO Jones will be more then happy to welcome Owens back especially if he performs.

Are the cowboys actually looking to take a WR in the first round?

T.O. will be a Cowboy next season even if we landed Calvin Johnson... he has at least this next year. Jones has already publically said he is paying T.O his roster bonus I am shocked it hasn't been done yet. We may want him out as fans, but it isn't happening this season. As far as a WR in the draft, I think unless we move up to get Lynch or Revis we will be drafting one. It isn't so much about this next season but, T.O. and Glenn are in their 30s and have injury issues. As long as it isn't Ginn Jr I don't really have a problem with taking a WR in the 1st.... I am afraid that they are looking a Ginn Jr though.

It's amazing and puzzling to me how a guy with the physical gifts he has and the talent to play the position of wide receiver is such a douche. You get paid money, you get people that look up to you like a hero, if you give a 100% you can be happy with yourself and your performance. But this guy likes to go out, alienate his teammates, pin themselves against each other and just totally kill the locker room friendship guys have.

As a person Terrell Owens is a moron, a loser, a guy that needs the spotlight on him at all times and a guy that just needs any and all kinds of media attention no matter how stupid he looks or acts. Now Dallas Ownership might like that, because they get the spotlight on them and the media keeps an eye on what TO will do next, some guys just want the circus clown because the act he brings, brings some sort of attention.

Remember, in the NFL, any and all attention (no matter how bad) is good. TO will probably stay with Dallas, i think he might even stay longer, maybe another year after this one. I will say this, at some point TO might call out Romo and so it will begin, i say the last 3 weeks.

You echo the concerns of any intellegent Cowboys fan. The problem is he puts up numbers and as long as he does that he will have a roster spot on a Jerry Jones run team. The one knock on Jerry is that he doesn't always weigh the risk/reward of a player. Is T.Os production worth all the BS he brings? Personally I don't think so, but as long as he is throwing up Michael Irving type numbers Jones will keep him.

I wish they'd interview his family... maybe he wasn't shown enough love as a child or maybe he was picked on in school, but he has to be one of the most insecure humans on this planet.

Goose, I agree with you about not wanting Ginn, people on the 49er site were all about him and for the life of me I don't know why. IMO you can't look at your WR corp and look at Ginn and think that he can take up for those 2 receivers you already have, good luck and may Ginn land in Detroit...

Goose in reference to you saying that you wish they would interview his family, it has been reported that his mom pretty much left him to his grandmother to be raised and she wasn't the type of woman to show a lot affection and kept him from other kids as a way of keeping him out of gangs etc. He did fall for a neighbor girl across the street I heard and that had to be quashed because he found out that she was his half sister I think and he had no idea that the man that lived across the street was in fact his own father, pretty messed up childhood IMO, however, I think there comes a time in your life where you need to realize that you are your own person and if there are things in your life that need fixing you need to bite the bullet and make those changes. As a 49er fan, I have always like T.O. and I think a lot of the bad press he got early on was unwarranted, he never had a problem with Steve Young but Jeff Garcia was never close to being a Steve Young so problems arose, and as far as people saying he was a distraction because he bitched about not getting the ball, people and even 49er fans either forgot or they choose to have a selective memory in regards to Jerry Rice being a drama queen and bitching when he didn't get his way.

Not to hijack this thread but Ginn wasn't even the best WR on that OSU team. Gonzales is a much better route runner and blocker. Ginn is just a play maker he can only run 2 routes and as we all know being a play maker in college doesn't mean shiat for the NFL. <-- Just ask the upteen Hiesman Trophy winners that are now selling insurance.

Rumor has it that Dwayne Bowe may fall to the Cowboys, b/c Oakland will more than likely pull a "Houston Texans." If we don't take a WR in the first round, we will more likely pull Gonzalez from OSU in the second round, I like Gonzalez tho he isn't a big play guy, more of a possession-like receiver. And too bad Samardija isn't gonna go NFL >.< I see us pulling Bowe in round 1 and maybe keeping TO for one more season.
