Personally I like the Cowboys and here is why:
1. They have a good young starting QB who is both mobile in the pocket and is pretty accurate. He is still learning but for how much success he has had in just 11 games last season he has a very bright future. (One of the highest QB ratings in the league) 2. They have a young and energetic defense. The 3-4 under Wade Phillips will be all about pressuring the QB and with Ellis coming back from injury, Ware as good as he is, and a budding Carpenter the Cowboys D will be a great front 7. Secondly their secondary is better than many give credit for, they have a great young FS in Watkins (he had his rookie issues), they have signed Hamlin (a solid FS), and they still have one of the best CB in the game in Terrance Newman. 3. Our WR corps is one of the best in the game. TO is a constant big play threat, as well as Terry Glenn who can catch just about any ball thrown to him and can still outrun many DBs. Crayton is an excellent slot receiver and great when Romo needs 6-7 yds as a possession WR. Cowboys also have great young depth at the position in Sam Hurd who is still developing but has shown some pretty good flashes at points in the season. 4. Our TEs are of the best in the league. Witten is a three time Pro-Bowler and is one of the best receivers in the game. Most dependable for 10-12 yds. Fasano is a developing TE but has shown is catching and blocking abilities in points of last season. 5. Our OL is the most questionable part of the team. It lacks some youth but is still very solid. Hopefully Davis can contribute and Gurode can continue to lead on. 6. Our ST are ok. McBriar was one of the best punters in the league last season and our punt coverage was equally as good. We need some length on our kickoffs and need a truely clutch kicker. With next season's schedule I project a 11-5 record. I really believe that the Cowboys are going to be the best team in the NFC next season. They have the defense and the offense to seperate themselves from the rest of the division. Why the others wont: Eagles: McNabb is still recovering, if he goes down again Eagles don't have a reliable back up anymore. Defense isn't what it used to be though some parts are still very good. Their front 7 is aging tho they have added one of the best LB in the league. Their secondary has taken a hit in the offseason, but their good safeties should help. WR corps could use some work (lacks experience) and the TEs are not a big passing threat. Running game is going to be crucial, but Westbrook is still a great option both running and catching. The whole Eagles season will depend on if they can get the right mix of run and pass in their offense and if the secondary can recover from free-agency. I project a 9-7 Eagles season next year. Giants: Eli Manning has not shown much consistency throughout the season. Giants also lost Tiki to retirement, although Jacobs is a good option and Droughns is ok, the running game will suffer. The defense is good, they have the best DE tandem, but lack depth at LB, and are porous in the secondary. The Giants will only put together a great season if Manning can be consistent and the defense doesn't get picked apart by injuries or long balls. I project a 10-6 Giants season next year. Redskins: The Redskins do not have a solid QB, they tried the Romo route last season and failed. They have a pretty good RB as long as he stays healthy and the O-line can open up some holes. The O-line was hit badly by the offseason which saw the Skins pick up Cowboys O-line rejects (that is when you know ur O-line sux). They have a solid WR corps, although Randel El and Lloyd are overpaid and are not as productive as expected; Moss is great. And Cooley is the best in the business. The defense lacks the frontline pressure and some depth at LB. The Skins secondary is solid and they have one of the best FS in the game. The Skins Defense will be decent next year but the offense is going to be what lets them down next season. I project a 8-8 Redskins season next year (I give em a .500 season b/c their schedule is so favorable) My prediction of the 2007 NFC East: 1. Dallas Cowboys 11-5 2. New York Giants 10-6 3. Philadelphia Eagles 9-7 4. Washington Redskins 8-8 (maybe even 7-9) BTW I did take into acct each team's schedule for 2007. All of em play games against GB, Ari, and Buffalo I believe. NFC East got some easier out of division games.

I'll stick with pessimism and the Eagles. As of now I think Dallas has potential, and having Parcells gone will hopefully get the team to turn it up a notch. Unfortunately, I'm not 100% sold that Wade Phillips is the guy to get the team going. There are questions marks on the O-Line and at CB, and we still have too see which Tony Romo is the real Tony Romo. As of now, the Eagles have the experience and the track record. Very tough team to bet against at this point in time. As per usual, I certainly hope I'm wrong.

I'm saying NYG are going to do as good/crappy as they did last year until they get rid of Coughlin, he's a joke and he looks like he's about to die.

Getting rid of Coughlin may be important, but it's time for Eli to step up. If Eli had taken it to the next level last season I think the Giants would have been one of the elite teams of the NFC.

the redskins will win. bold? yes. its not because they're that talented. its because everyone else sucks.
the eagles still aren't together as a team even after the departure of T.O. andy reid is having family troubles fans and some players even are angry about the departure of Jeff Garcia. Donovan is injury prone. the running game is decent the receivers aren't gamebrekers and the defense is average. the cowboys are breaking in a new coach and a QB who hasn't played a whole season. they have good receivers but still insist on throwing to the one with hands of brick. the runningbacks are easily the strongpoint. the defense is very good they'll keep them in games. and they've seem to forgotten what a kicker is the giants are just bad. Eli is going to be benched if he doesn't produce. they lost one of the greatest backs in NFL history and are trying to replace him with two fullbacks. the receivers are decent. i dont even want to comment on the defense its embarrassing. the redskins are on the rise. they have maybe the best young QB in the league. decent young receivers that can get better and two backs who are 1000 yard guys. the defense couldnt sack a potato sack (not even drew bledsoe) but they have a high draft pick so i see improvement there. don't hate the pick just appreciate the correctness ![]()

It's a tough call, I think the Giants might be the best team but they have big question marks at the RB and QB position so there is no way I can pick them to win it.
I think Philly is on the downside of their dominance. They pick up some defensive players in FA, but that WR corp just isn't scary to me and can McNabb and Westbrook both stay healthy a full season? Washington is horribly mis-managed, I never understand why Snyder does what he does in FA... and it shows with the product he puts on the field. They have some talent but they just never mesh. Dallas is my pick, not a homer pick... I think they have the best core of talent on both sides of the ball. It will depend on how that O-line plays, as that is our biggest question mark going into the season. I still think Romo is the real deal, but he started to fade a little the last few games of the season. We have the best rushing attack in the division, the best WR corp, and should have the best defense. 1. Dallas 10-6 2. Philly/Giants - could go either way both are 9-7 4 Washington 6-10 |

The Skins aren't the best team in the division and I really don't see them sticking together as long as Snyder is making personnel decisions and as long as Gibbs is the coach. I say the same thing with the Giants under Coughlin b/c there is so much dissent in the locker room I don't see them succeeding, any team that does too much bickering off the field cannot mesh and succeed on the field. The two teams I see being in the hunt for most of the season will be the Cowboys and the Eagles, provided TO keeps his mouth shut. They both have great team chemistry and with Wade Phillips as coach the Cowboys will have a fun atmosphere to work with. The only reason why i count out the Eagles is that in the past few seasons McNabb has gotten hurt at one point or the other and usually after that they have issues, last season was an exception because they had Garcia but next season they have no security blanket. Cowboys will take the division baring some major injury, like Romo breaking his arm or something (Knock on wood).

This is a hard pick. All 4 teams can have 8-8 seasons or better
The Cowboys have a great WR in TO and they have Terry Glenn and Patrick Clayton and Jason witten. They have Julius Jones and Marion Barber who are both pretty good. Tony Romo is good enough to win games and thats all that matters. The defense has problems but they are not bad. They need a kicker. The Giants can win this division if Eli Manning can play up to the level he is supposed to play. They have Jeremy Shockey who is one of the better TEs in the league. And they have Plaxico Burress who is a big playmaker. They need a RB they have Jacobs and Droughns but im not sure if they can fill Tike Barbers shoes. The defense is ummm...how can i say this..oh yea SORRY!!! Michael Strahan and the other DE(his name is just crazy) are both very good but they need LBs and DBs. Eli will not be benched because he is all they have. They cannot bench him The Eagles are alright. McNabb needs to stay on the field for them to have a chance. Westbrook showed he can carry the load last season and they have 2 or 3 good receivers but no great ones. The D is pretty good. Lito Sheppard Brian Dawkins Jerimiah Trotter are all good. The Skins are rising. Jason Campbell is pretty good he just needs more experience. Santana Moss is just sick. He can make plays when they need him too. They need another receiver too help. Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts are both great running backs. Both can top 1000 yards easy. The D needs more experience. Sean Taylor is descent good at times. They need some playmakers. The NFC East is the toughest division in football and this is a tough choice but i got to go with the Cowboys. Romo will have more experience and the other teams have alot of weaknesses.
