i don't think john elway could've turned around the Lions and Browns teams Garcia was thrown into you cant completly bame him for that

I just hate Owens, first i felt sorry for him at the start of the year, then he just made it into a media circus to get attention back on him, the guy is a puke. Dallas will realize this soon enough and its going to hurt me seeing it go down. He'll alienate the Cowboys and then end up sitting with an injury or suspension of some sort.

As for the other comments, i used to be a McNabb fan, but he plays the victim all too well and where was he when the team was out of the playoffs till Garcia stepped up during the "soft" part of the schedule?

I hear that bs a lot, soft part of the schedule, it cracks me up. In the NHL i hear that and then you see a bottom feeder team beating a top team loving the aspect of playing the under dog. I really don't count teams as weak, what happens when you poke fun at a team and call it weak and a joke then it beats your top team, a joke beat a good team, does it not make your good team a joke then also?

The teams Garcia played on sucked, he can't be blamed for everything, the NFL doesn't hold the CFL players in high regard. Flutie was as semi-popular as he was because he's a really great guy in the community and just the guy you want to root for, the little QB that plays his balls to the wall. I watch the CFL and i don't see a lack of talent, i just see it as raw football without the bull**** glitz and glamour added to it to make it into some pathetic spectacle.

I love the NFL, don't get me wrong, but i don't like it when a league that tries to stay as real as they can to the sport is thought of lesser because someone feels the league they love has better talent. No way.

I tune into college games when i can, but if you like that sort of atmosphere where its raw and its not so much about the shiny pretty crap to distract you from a crappy game...CFL will make a fan out of you.

Just make sure you don't become an Als or Stamps fan, Lions all the way.

Point being that teams make QB changes all the time. Happens several times a season, consistently having a few ending up in the post-season. Garcia's accomplishment was rather mundane really.

As for the Browns and Lions, those teams were doomed. But what you can blame Garcia for was the QB play he provided. He was awful. Garcia is a very limited QB. He needs very specific circumstances to be effective: a good line, an offense that rarely asks him to throw more than 15 yards and a good check-down option. He severly limits what you can do offensively. Eagles happen to be one of the few teams that has what he needs.

By comparison, the playbook is wide open for McNabb. He can make all the thows you need, is a better runner and has done everything Garcia has and more.

You don't count teams as weak? In your world, there is no difference between facing the Raiders or facing the Colts. I take it you don't bet much. Nor did you watch the Eagles through the 80's and 90's. Your record against the Cowboys stands out as a wee bit different than your record against the Cardinals.

The truth is, strength of schedule is HUGE. It makes all the difference in the world. Who you play is just as important as how you play. A so-so performance against a good team is a loss. A so-so performance against a bad team is a win.

The CFL isn't as talented as the NFL. It has a lot of passionate players giving their all, but you can see that every Friday Night in highschools all across America. The desire to play at a high level and the ability to play at a high level are not the same. That is no slight to the CFL, it is a different league emphasizing different aspects of the game. However, the NFL gets the top talent. Not since Raghib Ishmail has a player turned down the NFL for the CFL.

That same desire for us is in Hockey, not football...but CFL stays to the roots of real football than the NFL, can't argue that when it's pretty much fact.

As for the comment i really quoted you to respond to, the weak teams thing. How many times have you seen in hockey where a top 3 team is beat by a bottom 3 team that kills their chances of clinching a divisional title? Same thing in the NFL, where a crappy team is taken lightly and they come out knowing they have no chance but want to battle so they don't look soo defeated and end up losing by just a few pts?

I don't count any team out, even the weak ones will always suprise you when you least expect it, thats why the term "Go/Play hard or go home" is around. You let up, you lose. The team that wants to fight regardless of talent will always put up a good fight no matter how weak you think they are...based on talent.

I enjoy watching the CFL more than the NFL, to be completely honest. I enjoy the downs we have and because of our college programs for football, we don't produce that many top NFL/CFL type players, most of our guys are US college guys (American or Canadian born). I wish Canada had a better hockey program as well as a more polished football program. There are some impressive players down here, black, indo-canadian, white, etc...that get stuck in the university level and don't really get to go anywhere because in the states it's not so much lets let the best athletes around the world get scholarships.

I did have a few friends that had scholarships to fresno state, one friend is 6'5'' 265lbs and looks like he belongs in the WWE fighting Batista, he quit when he blew out both knees in a car accident he was a passenger in. But the talent is always around, just no program to develop it in.

The US is THE ELITE in that department for football. Their hockey program isn't so bad either (just because i did mention it in my post).

Even in hockey, upsets are the exception. That is why they are called "upsets". How many 16 seats beat the top seat? To answer your specific question, not very often. The Flyers are a combined 1-13 against the Devils and Pens. Blues are 1-6 against the Preds.

You have a very skewed, and inaccurate, perception of strength of schedule. Regardless of your personal opinion, the undenable fact is that the favored team usually wins. The question is if they cover the spread or not. The upsets occur less than half the time. I would suspect no more than 40% of the time.
