New NY Stadium = $1.4 Bil

I can't believe the new Giants/Jets stadium is going to cost $1.4 billion and the price is still going up. I feel sorry for everyone that lives in the NY area cuz your taxes are gunna skyrocket. F*ckin' government.

Keep in mind the Giants & Jets both currently play in New Jersey. There had been plans to build a stadium for at least the Jets in NYC. The new stadium is NJ's way of keeping the revenue for both teams in their state.

When Giants Stadium was originally built, there was a huge question of whether or not NYers would go to NJ to see their team play. Lots of fans were P*##*% off, but it was a success. The Jets followed suit a few years later.

The new stadium project is designed to stop the Jets (and presumably the Giants to follow) from leaving NJ and returning to New York.

That is the most ridiculous price yet. I really feel sorry for the NY residents.

I think you all might be forgetting that the price is a much smaller percentage of the NJ/NY area's overall fiscal activity than most other cities with a stadium.

In addition, I imagine there might be some consideration for utilizing the new stadium as part of future bids for getting the Summer Olympics to New York.
